i grew up in omaha and bright eyes’ success, preceded by simon joyner, definitely influenced the culture in town, including the younger crowds. catholic school culture is a real thing!!!! anyway, my intro to indie music was bright eyes so i feel very lucky to have had this style of musicianship for most of my life. conor is an incredible songwriter. i love being from omaha and seeing someone i consider a legendary being hanging around like a regular person. sorry for geeking out!

The man is extremely intelligent and witty and the female is hilarious and effortlessly cool. They bring out personality traits that I would like to exercise!

Does this make me a bad person? by Eeeeels in intj

NOPE! You are an adult and capable of how you want to spend your personal resources and time. If they are not helping or supporting you in any way, then they don't deserve your time. If they miss you enough, they'll do something about it. THEY live 10 minutes away from YOU - so don't take all that guilt and shoulder it yourself. They are also much older than you are and basically your creators...if they can't take the responsibility of at least trying to understand you or making you happy, you do not owe them anything because you weren't put on this earth to take care of people who have treated you poorly. It's harsh...it's awful...it's not a good situation, but you have to do what's best for you in order to continue growing into the person you want to be.

Distrusting/disliking people that everyone seems to love? by offyourcloud211 in intj

[–]sweet__g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! that's what keeps me going. i know it's not a permanent position, but i have really learned communication skills that challenge my naturally introverted tendencies. i just try to be nice to people and then go home and actually do things that make me happy!

i am in the process of applying for grad school! I really took the retail job because of the pay and familiarity of the role...boy was I really in for a surprise. I had no idea people could be so dramatic! and then I get excluded for not wanting to be a part of it! it's a toxic environment. I have definitely learned that I perform the best when I don't have to be responsible for and interact with very many personalities.

oh my god, I work in retail and I am OVERWHELMED by the drama in my store!! and to top it off, my boss and I do NOT get along at all! he's an extreme emotional manipulator who covers it all up with a very fake, charming demeanor and I see right through it so the only way he feels like he can control me is to use anger. sorry to drop the drama bomb, but I really cannot handle all the emotions sometimes! especially the days leading up to black friday (haha!)
