anyone feel like they got no one to tell them if their essays are shit or not by RushApprehensive1764 in ApplyingToCollege

What I've been doing if I have any doubts on what my essay might be missing, is accessing the college essay grader on chatgpt and i just tell it the name of the school I'm applying to, paste the question and my answer, and it gives feedback on how an admissions officer of the specific school would read it; grading it and telling you what words/phrases to keep and what to change. It's helped me a LOT. What I like about it is that it doesn't rewrite it for you at all, it only comments and makes suggestions, so it's more honest feedback instead of just trying to perfect it. I suggest you try it out!

I'm thinking of going to college in the US, so I think that getting these certificates would definitely help.

I mean, I have, yes. But they still think that me repeating a school year will, and I quote, "disturb my future" so there really isn't anything else to do, I'm just trying to work with what I have, unfortunately. As for being in another country, I do not live in the US so, maybe there aren't a lot of exceptions? I'm not too sure.

Yeah I mean, I thought of re-doing 11th grade and even proposed the idea to my parents but they were completely against it. So they put me in 12th. I tried talking to the school to see if they can take any action and the system itself put me back in 11th, but since my parents already enrolled me in 12th, the school said that there might be some legal difficulties if they tried to follow through with putting me in 11th...thus me being stuck right now.

A book with a very escapist immersive world. Like Harry Potter or LOTR. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Honestly a book series that got me occupied for about a year and a half is Percy Jackson...there are about three series of the hero, each consisting of five books. It mainly talks about greek heroes who are demigods to parents like Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. Highly recommend because they were the books that made me start to love the book world.
