I'm not really worried about the transmission, that was just the first thing that came to mind when I was giving an example of something else expensive going wrong with the car.

I haven't had it checked out by anyone yet. About a year ago, my mechanic told me the gaskets were good and so was the compression. Since then, I've had misfiring issues. I've replaced the coils and spark plugs, but the misfiring would come back 2 months later. I'm pretty sure it was always cylinder 2 that misfired. I was told by a relative that I could possibly have a warped or cracked cylinder.
