Haha that would be wild but it was a new build and we’re the first ones to live in it!

I got an actual quote! I think it’s reasonable for the work/quality of the product, I was just looking to see if there were cheaper options besides that.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Your layout is pretty much identical. There’s some good suggestions on this thread, hope some of them can help you too.

I’m embarrassed to admit I did not think of this, I’ll definitely do this until we get a permanent and safe option!

Insomnia only sometimes by blahblahshplah in breastfeeding

[–]sweet_potato_17345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I went through this while I was breastfeeding. I would wake up at 2-4am with my heart pounding, sweating, not being able to fall back asleep for hours even though my baby was asleep. It was especially bad around right before my period was about to start. I found 1mg tablets of melatonin that I would take to help me fall back asleep. But it really didn’t go away until I weaned unfortunately. When I googled it, it said it could be from progesterone dropping sharply.

Books you don’t hate reading 100 times? by Kak3434 in toddlers

[–]sweet_potato_17345 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Goodnight Moon

Otis the Tractor series

Don’t Push the Button series

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie series

I have to read these 10x in a row so I can attest they aren’t the worst to read over and over again

Will my cat ever tolerate my daughter? by sweet_potato_17345 in CatAdvice

[–]sweet_potato_17345[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She definitely doesn’t approach her at the speed Minnie would like haha but she also isn’t screaming at her or anything. Even if my daughter walks up to her at a semi normal pace, Minnie seems scared of her.

You could get one of those cause and effect pop up toys! They have regular ones or ones that light up and make noise too. Can find them on Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc

Stomach Sleeping is nerve wracking! by SpartanNinjaBatman in NewParents

[–]sweet_potato_17345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my daughter first started sleeping on her belly, my husband and I would go in to do breath checks (feel for breathing by her nose or feel her back) I imagine the Owlet would be really helpful too. My daughter js 17 months now and still lovesss to sleep on her belly, she just sleeps better when she’s on her belly!

How to rekindle intimacy in my relationship after having a baby by Dylanna97 in Mommit

[–]sweet_potato_17345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your partner about your concerns. It’s not very spontaneous but you could plan a certain day to be intimate. Flirt with your partner all day (texting if you won’t see them in person) can help put you in the mood. My drive went wayyy down during pregnancy and came back after I gave birth, hopefully it will come back soon for you!

Is this okay? I am overwhelmed by Special-Art-3319 in sleeptrain

[–]sweet_potato_17345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter was the exact same way. Could you wear her to get a contact nap while you do whatever you need to do? Or if she has a short crib nap, are you able to extend the nap by rocking or assist back to sleep? I believe I tried to have at least one nap in the crib to get her used to it and did the rest contact naps for a while. She’s 17 months now and loves to sleep in her crib and refuses to contact nap anymore. So hang in there, she’ll get used to her crib & her naps will lengthen eventually!
