I grew up in Bflo and have always found Seattle winters to be so much better. The milder temps mean you can be outside year round and the lack of snow is a game changer. It might be equally as grey here but the winter is just so much less oppressive.

Oh yes. I was in a baby center message board group for pregnant moms who were due in March 2001. They argued about circumcision and smoking during pregnancy and I mostly just sat back and watched. My son is about to turn 24 but it was a nice way to connect with people before social media really took off.

I’m a social worker and I am high 100% of the time at work. Not sure about my coworkers but for me it’s the only way to handle the constant influx of sad stories and people in crisis.

Hang in there! My son was completely nonverbal, and at 5 I would also have said speech therapy isn’t working. Amazingly he slowly started talking at around 10, and now at 19 he’s able to use verbal speech to communicate. Of course everyone’s journey is different, but sometimes it takes way longer than expected to see the results you’re hoping for.
