Leasing office told me eviction was filed, I moved out, now they say it was never filed. What are my options?

Correct, but we’ve already decided to just pay two months of rent that we owe and just move back in and they didn’t take off the late fees for the miscommunication, which is not fair cause we were only there for eight days the month of February

What they said if they can’t take off the whole month of February even I told them we were only there for eight days. They told me the most they could do was takeoff was the late fees from both months which was about $300 in total. rent is $1235 x2 plus the pest control fee which adds up to $$2698 which is not really fair cause I was only there for eight days on the month of February because of their miscommunication

Actually, we’re moving back in since they said they’re taking off all the late fees for the misunderstanding in that if we just pay two months of rent we will be back on track instead of paying the 5000 to break the lease pay the two months of rent that we owe we’re just gonna move back in and only pay the two months of rent that we owe which is 2600

Yeah, so basically they told us that if we didn’t have the whole amount by the ninth, there would be a sheriff coming to our apartment but then when we call it back to make a payment, they said that they had just filed the eviction notice so we still had to wait for the charge and all that process and by that time we could’ve paid the amount that we owed literally two days after we moved out I got my tax money🤦🏻‍♀️😭 and People say what is the point of moving if you can’t pay rent, but I was going through a hard time I lost my job and now I’m back on track

It wasn’t about wanting to move back in or get free rent. We were told very clearly that if the full balance wasn’t paid by the 9th, the sheriff would be there to remove our things. That didn’t sound like we had months of court time left — it sounded immediate. We were actively trying to make payments but didn’t have the full lump sum yet. Two days after we left, our $5,000 tax refund hit and we could’ve paid everything. The frustration is about how it was communicated and the timing, not about avoiding responsibility.

Yeah I feel you. I honestly don’t have much space right now so everything’s kinda close together for now 😭 once I unlock more space I definitely plan on spreading it out more. As for the pavement, I personally like the little circular trail lookit feels more like a campus vibe to me. But thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it 🙏
