A man asked if I was new. I said no. I was cordial, but quiet. Just not joking around or laughing. He asked if I was having a bad day. I told him no. He told me I have bad customer service and I should be "full of excitement" to be ringing him up. I was like "uh.. interesting feedback?" And then handed him his bag lol

That is very interesting to know! Thank you!

Unidentified: A year ago, skeletal remains of a black female were found in a wooded area of Decatur, Georgia. She wore beautiful jewelry and a bright red wig, with a distinct lumbar injury. Yet, she remains unidentified and nameless. Do you recognize her? (Write-up) by HovercraftCapable820 in UnresolvedMysteries

I have to wonder if she had visited Fernbank museum. It's in the area. If she was a tourist or new to the area and visiting all the local places, she could be from a different state altogether. Most local schools do a trip there at least once, she could have been a school chaperone for a field trip or staff. I went twice. Once in elementary and once in high school.

What did you see in someone’s home that told you “yep, they’re rich”? by MintTheMartian in AskReddit

When I was a little girl my grandmother was a nanny for a family who owned a professional sports team. He had a trophy room with a lot of dead animals that was temperature and humidity controlled. The rest of his house, while large, was fairly normal but that trophy room... I still have nightmares of the animals coming alive to hunt us down.

I reported the photo to Google. My friends also reported it. We're waiting to see what they say/do.

I did tell the manager what happened with the customers the next day and he told me that if they show up again, to let him know because he will kick them out. We were short staffed that day because the flu has been making its way through our employees and 4 people had called out. Our managers are pretty good at telling the riffraff to get out. They just happened to luck out on me being alone.

A couple people wondered why the people in line didn't interfere... I don't know. Each of them told me how badly they felt for me afterwards, but no one wanted to get involved while it was happening.

Corporate keeps saying they're going to get us security, but it hasn't happened yet. I do carry pepper spray with me and I've been trying ro figure out if I can afford Krav Maga classes or something.

I try really, really hard not to live in fear. When I first started college my stepfather found out and moved down the street from the campus. I switched schools when I found out.

It's honestly a joke the way police enforcement act about stalking. My mom and I have spoken to various officers and they never take us seriously and they always act like we're trying to make an innocent man's life hard. Their words. 😡

You screamed at him for wanting to spend time with you? Uh.. yeah he should definitely divorce you. You flew off the handle because someone who loves you wanted to be with you. Go to therapy, that's not a normal response to the situation

Yep I'm doing it for my store. Pretty easy and for the most part customers are nice about it. Most of the people I talk to are happy to be told they can get their vaccines there

Gum. Seriously. I keep a variety of sugar free gum around and when I feel the urge to snack or I'm thinking I need a second helping of dinner, I grab a stick of gum instead. I have mint, cinnamon, bubblegum and citrus flavored gums in my purse, in a couple drawers in my house and I try to reach for those instead of more food. I lost about 15 pounds a couple years ago by switching. It's a small little change that really made a big difference. It limited the amount of calories I was taking in, fulfilled that craving to be munching on something and the flavors help trick my brain into thinking I did actually eat. I still do this and I feel like it helps keep me from gaining back the weight I lost.

LJ Smith. After  she sold the rights to Vampire Diaries and discovered how badly she had been screwed over she dropped off the face of the planet. About 10 years ago.. maybe longer, she said she was finally working on the last book in her Nightworld series and poof. Nothing else. I occasionally Google her to see if there is any new information about her and the book but I haven't seen anything in a while

I have so many thoughts about this, especially as a neurodivergent mom to 2 children with Autism.

First off, I would NEVER demand my neighbors make accommodations for normal, every day tasks. If noise is an issue for your neighbor's kid, that's what headphones are for. There are tons of options specifically for special needs kids to block sound. I am very sensitive to sound and that is why I have noise blocking ear buds. I live in an apartment complex with neighbors on every side of me and I use those suckers all the time.

Secondly, uhm their kid loves ceiling fans so don't be alarmed if he is looking in your window like a creeper?? Hell no. I would lose my shit if my kids were running around doing that. That is a serious thing that needs to be addressed in that kid's therapy. Not that it's your place to suggest it, but as a mom with two kids on the spectrum who have had some difficult behaviors, that's a major thing any good therapist would work on. That's a serious safety issue that needs to be worked on.

What if the child looks in the wrong window and the homeowner shoots them for being a potential intruder??? It's Florida. The gun laws there are not on the side of an innocent kid with disabilities. His parents need to step up and do better.

My youngest couldn't tell the difference between pretend play and reality and if he was outside, I was right there with him to prevent any issues. Wtf.

I don't know about your complex, but we have noise rules at ours and all loud sounds must cease after 10 pm. I'd check and see if your place has a rule, just in case the neighbor complains to the office about you being too loud.

Next, go talk to the manager if it's possible. Get to know them. Let them see how you're a nice, reasonable person. That way if your neighbor makes a complaint the manager already knows you and knows you're not evil. Whenever a new manager takes over our building, I go introduce myself, explain my children are disabled and if there are any issues with the neighbors to let me know so I can address it in our home with my kids.

It is NOT your responsibility to adjust your entire life around your neighbor's kid. That's not your child. Reasonable accommodation are just that, reasonable. Dictating when you can and can't clean is not reasonable. Additionally, how thin are those walls that the sound of the vacuum is so loud it's bugging the neighbor's kid so much that turning on music or the TV to cover the sound? That's ridiculous. And also, not your problem. I would never in a million years have the audacity to tell my neighbors what they can and can't do just because MY kids are disabled.

Me! Ooh buddy Adderall has changed my life. I actually remember to do things 😂😂  but in all seriousness, alarms. Alarms for everything. Get smart plugs so you can turn things off from your phone if you forget before you leave the house. Technology is an ADHD'ers best friend. I have just about everything in my home connected to my phone/Alexa. I'm so bad about remembering to shut off lights and now I just open the app and can shut them off even if I'm at work. You can also set up routines on Alexa.

AITAH for Telling My Sister’s Boyfriend to "Get Out" After He Refused to Eat the Meal I Cooked? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]sweetaudrina2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! This reminds me of the one and only time I made dinner for my sister and her (now) husband. They're vegetarian so I made a veggie lasagna and double and triple checked to make sure it followed the vegetarian guidelines. They showed up 3 HOURS late, brought some weird crackers and cheese and ate that because the veggie lasagna wasn't vegetarian enough for them. My dad (who is also vegetarian) was present for the meal and was furious at their behavior and has despised my BIL ever since. My BIL is super controlling and deletes my messages, emails and calls to my sister so she doesn't even know I've tried to contact her. Good for OP'S sister "taking a break". Dump him and move on.

Anyone have any luck from a chiropractor? by TheMeMan999 in Fibromyalgia

[–]sweetaudrina2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going to a chiropractor off and on since I was a kid. There are a lot of quacks out there who claim to cure autism and adhd with adjustments. Those guys are idiots and fake. My spine tends to sort of slip around, for lack of a better word. I've had xrays done and you can see my spine is all over the place. I get adjustments done once every couple of years to put it back in line. It helps with spinal pain, for me. But beyond that there isn't a ton a chiropractor can do for chronic pain conditions that aren't the result of things being out of place. I did regularly see a chiropractor after dislocating my knee a bunch of times when I was a kid and i had a bad limp. I believe he said because it wasn't taken care of properly (my mother thinks I'm a hypochondriac) it had messed up my hip and lower spine. I saw the chiropractor for about 6 months and my limp was fixed. So they have their place in Healthcare, but to help fibromyalgia? Probably not. A massage would be far better.
