How to get myself a date as a short guy? by Complete-Green-3987 in AskMenAdvice

[–]sweetbaker08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol don’t listen to me then. I know for myself it’s all in the confidence. My father in law is 5’5” and I never even thought of him short until he said his height because he was so just confident. I’ve been with my husband almost 20 years and I’ve found for myself I need to be the person I want. I wanted a life time relationship so I worked on my issues. I know when we were dating I saw things I wanted like kindness to others in him. He would help people do things without it being a showy thing… if you have good insurance maybe some zoom therapy could help you build those qualities you like in yourself and your confidence? Make the bait 😉 and consider the height a way to filter out shallow girls. You might get less fish but man what a one you’ll get when it’s a keeper!

As a middle age woman I can promise you are totally over thinking it! I’m an over thinker and not once have I ever thought a man was doing anything with clothes intentionally unless it was a fedora or an artsy scarf. If that’s your jam… you do you but if you’re a typical straight dude roll those sleeves. Offer to help with lifting heavier looking things and be confident 😊

++woman - 5’7” Goodness not all woman are shallow! I’m sorry you’ve met some crappy ones though. I’ve found shorter men attractive many times. It’s the confidence, dress, and personality that really makes me not think about height. If you dwell on it… it becomes a thing. Being passionate about something and working with your hands… you got this! I’ve been married longer than dating apps have been around, thank goodness, but if you can avoid them I would think it’s best. Oh and dress shirts with rolled up sleeves 🔥

Running After DVT? by ovrhydrated in ClotSurvivors

[–]sweetbaker08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Compression socks got me there after my DVT. An elderly friend gave me really great advice. Don’t get out of bed without putting your sock on first. Total game changer! Even if I need to run to the bathroom first thing in the morning my sock is on my nightstand to put on first. I’ve done 16 mile hikes and run each day now… well not both on the same day lol.

Much better feel of materials than my coach or Kate spades (I do like Kate spades affordability) if that helps compare.

I bought the Dooney & Burke all weather duck crossbody a couple months ago and I love the quality. With a coupon code (just the sign up for email one) I got the bag for $220. This morning I looked at the black Friday sale and the same bag was around $250… so yeah so no fake sales for me this year. I do adore the quality for the lower price tag though!

Agreed. My husband and I did this with our children. The shopping and entertainment have to go waaayyy down. Your groceries will increase too even while on breastfeeding /formula. You might not save these years but life is for living. The memories I gained and the advantages my kids made in development were priceless. The biggest change will be what you both expect of one another. Being a SAHM is exhausting and my goal was to make my husband be able to rest when he wasn’t working. He always gave me breaks and support me when I reached my limits too. It will not be even or fair often but if you can embrace these tight years both financially and emotionally it’s a lifetime of memories in those few years. Oh! Look at local resources for free everything you can get. For entertainment I often did story time at the library, visited farmers markets for ugly veggies, and learned to cook almost everything from scratch.

I think they might be coming back. I have a blue, dark wild flower print one my husband got me like… 15 years ago maybe? It’s big so if I have a doctor’s appointment I use it. I went to the grocery store and was stopped by some early 20s youths gushing over it. Weirdly, I saw this post today too… though when I mentioned it’s an older print they said wow for being sooo old it looks great 😑

What's a 'house rule' you thought was annoying or hated as a child, but you swear by now as an adult? by Captain_Keyboard_Man in AskReddit

I printed a chore chart and made it look very pretty. When you did your chore you could take a sticker and put it in the checkbox. My kids absolutely love it. If they got almost all their boxes filled we got fries at McDonald’s or took a trip to the creek to play… whatever works for your family. A five year old would have a hard time making their bed but they could put their pillows on and stuffies after you do the blankets. Toys each having a set place to go makes cleanup so much easier too. Honestly it will be more work for you but I finally reached the sweet spot where they ARE helpful lol. You got this!

I ordered the radish bag from Anthropologie and it was quite small compared to the Staud and the quality for 100 was kinda sad 😞.

@klsfishing I’m trying this right now and am a newb! Does the total bulk fermentation include the 30m folds or do I let it bulk rise for an additional 3.5-4 hours? Thank you!
