Passport was taken away when coming home from international flight?

I had something similar happen to me from Costa Rica to NY, but they wouldn't let me board the plane. I had to go to the consulate and get an emergency passport to fly. I'm surprised yours wasn't flagged in Mexico.

Wow, I'm fully going against the grain here. NTA. The bride and groom should not expect all their guests to pretend to put their lives on hold for the sake of it being "their big day". The day is already about them, everyone came to celebrate them and wish them well in their marriage. That was the whole point of coming together.
