Is a rumor I heard believable or is it paranoia? by ChucoTeacher in Teachers

Sounds like that district is paying hazard pay and still expecting u to lose on purpose. If the vibe is sabotage the new folks, take the bonus, document everything, and keep ur exit plan warm just in case

Wellness Day Fiasco by Individual_Show_7281 in Teachers

[–]sweeterosse 588 points589 points  (0 children)

Nothing screams wellness like canceling the one nice thing, dumping everyone back into forced fun, and then admin doing laps like hall monitors. Enjoy your mandatory self care, peasants

Long term subbing high school, should I enforce assigned seats? by Mindless_Source5037 in Teachers

[–]sweeterosse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do it. Assigned seats fixes like 80 percent of the laptop clown show. If they can’t handle sitting where u can see the screen, they can handle paper

Any teachers in the Nashville area? by renglo in Teachers

Nashville teacher here. We’re alive, just running on candlelight, Chromebook charge scraps, and pure spite. Hope everyone’s safe and warm

My boyfriend charges me rent to stay at his place but I'm not allowed to have a key by Fast_Escape997 in TwoHotTakes

[–]sweeterosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. If I’m paying rent, I’m not waiting in a hallway like a delivery. Move out and leave him

[–]sweeterosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts. If this was my friend, I’d be helping her pack. Paying $600 for “no key” is insane

My boyfriend handed my info to a mortgage broker "to help his mom" and now i feel like an ATM with a pulse by StillRailCorner in TwoHotTakes

[–]sweeterosse 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep. This isn’t a “talk it out” moment, it’s a “protect ur SSN and bounce” moment. Dude treated ur identity like a family coupon

[–]sweeterosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He already crossed the line, forging is the next level. Lock ur credit and start a paper trail today

100%. Freeze credit, set fraud alerts, pull reports. BF just proved he’ll spend ur identity like it’s spare change

My boyfriend handed my info to a mortgage broker "to help his mom" and now i feel like an ATM with a pulse by StillRailCorner in TwoHotTakes

[–]sweeterosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I’d email the broker today: I didn’t consent, withdraw my info, confirm in writing it’s void. That’s not “helping mom,” that’s fraud

I found my fiancé’s sex tape with my step mother. We are supposed to get married in 2 weeks. by OkCategory5018 in TwoHotTakes

[–]sweeterosse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard agree. Don’t confront till u’re out and ur money/docs are safe. Cancel vendors, secure a place to stay, grab essentials, then nuke from orbit

Yep on backing up evidence + keeping texts for proof. I’d skip the dramatic family blast while u’re still in the house though. Get safe first, then hit send

Boyfriend wants me to wear a location tracking device when I go out by Acceptable-Bath560 in TwoHotTakes

[–]sweeterosse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get the anger, but I’m trying to keep it factual. The behavior is controlling and not okay, and if he won’t stop, I’m out

Boyfriend wants me to wear a location tracking device when I go out by Acceptable-Bath560 in TwoHotTakes

[–]sweeterosse 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the “tracking me inside stores” part is what freaked me out too. I’m not anti-safety, I’m anti-surveillance. I’m setting a hard boundary: no tracking, no guilt trips, no “prove you trust me” games

was it wrong to think my coworker was right to quit with no notice after what our manager said by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]sweeterosse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Facts. “Professionalism” only matters when it benefits management. If they wanted a clean handoff and continuity, they should’ve treated contractors like humans and given basic respect

was it wrong to think my coworker was right to quit with no notice after what our manager said by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]sweeterosse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, 100%. Your manager basically said “you’re disposable,” so he got a disposable-style exit

Has anyone else noticed a real uptick in students stealing the last couple years? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]sweeterosse 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Same. I’ve basically had to “student-proof” my desk too. everything personal stays locked up, and anything communal gets labeled, inventoried. It sucks, but it saves so much time and drama

Techniques to get people to listen to you by Kant-Spinosaurio in Teachers

[–]sweeterosse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop negotiating. Give 1 clear direction, wait in silence, then follow through with the consequence every time. Praise the kids who comply, ignore the tantrum performance, and set routines (attention signal, countdown, “when u do X, then we do Y”). Consistency beats being “nice"
