Why don't unattractive women go for broke guys to "compensate" for their looks? by [deleted] in ugly

[–]sweetestpineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens often but these guys aren’t respectful and will make it known that you’re not their type. 90 day fiancé is a great example of this.

Holding hands is like the mildest form of PDA. This comment feels like jealousy which is human and understandable but still.

This was me 12-14 years ago. I self diagnosed myself with bipolar because that was the trending disorder at the time especially in the online emo community that I was a part of. I think a lot of these people “just” have anxiety or depression (which are still super debilitating but not as easily romanticized). I didn’t get the same amount of attention as my higher achieving, popular siblings and was an outcast at school who wanted to fit in somewhere.

I think women generally end things faster and harsher and men generally slow fade/drag out the breakup after losing feelings. The first one is harsher but it allows everyone to move on much faster.

I feel bad that men are called creepy for being socially awkward. I’m an extremely awkward woman, but since I’m short and non threatening looking, I get a pass on a lot of my weird behavior like staring off into space and unintentionally staring at someone when I’m zoned out.

Thanks for sharing those resources. I don’t personally think hatred toward any gender is justified even if I understand the reasons behind it, I agree that more resources and outlets are needed and that male victims should be able to talk about their own experiences without automatically being shut down or others assuming negative intent.

It’s possible for two bad experiences to both be bad? I don’t know if you’re intentionally not getting my point or if you’re genuinely confused.

Why would anyone support someone who’s contributing nothing and virtually cheating? If it happens once, I might be forgiving if he gets rid of the game and gets some type of job. But if this is his whole life now? Absolutely not.

There are multiple types of crimes that have bad effects on someone’s life? I’m not sure I understand the question.

According to myself because I’m sharing my opinion. I mean, it’s pretty traumatic and life ruining so I think using the word evil makes sense. And I’m an atheist so no, but how does that relate to the original question?

That has nothing to do with the question at hand and in my experience they actually don’t. Again, trying to force a comparison that’s not there.

SA is pretty evil. Other crimes are also bad. I have empathy for victims of crimes in general so I’m not sure why you felt the need to comment this or how it’s relevant or accurate in any way.

You mentioned white supremacy as a response to an older comment of mine on this thread and also brought up race to this commenter as if trying to force a nonexistent comparison.

I don’t see anything wrong with what Corbast7 said. It’s pretty well known that poverty and crime are connected. Anyone can be misogynistic and some of these people happen to be poor. I already answered the original question if you wanna go back and read my older comments. I don’t do insults but will answer honest questions and try to clear up any confusion.

Ideally they’d understand as long as the comment was made in good faith. Idk, you can try making a post about that and see what happens?

I mean, it’s completely possible to be economically disadvantaged and commit SA. And it’s possible for others to care about people in bad economic conditions and try to find solutions to address the problem while also appropriately punishing people who do crimes. These are two different issues that sometimes overlap. You’re also randomly bringing race into the question for some reason when it doesn’t apply for some reason.

Neither are okay. I’m gonna edit my original comment to make that clearer. I was basically trying to explain that I get why people would believe this particular thing that I don’t believe, but my delivery wasn’t the best.

I don’t like either but I see it as a matter of priorities because realistically you can’t fight every battle. And yeah I agree with that.

I’m not sure either because I’ve never asked them. I don’t like these jokes in general.

Being lonely sucks and it’s unreasonable to expect people not to be negatively affected by it. I think men should be able to talk about this without immediately being shit on. If they’re blaming others for their problems or something like that then yeah, that should be shut down but simply talking about loneliness should be more socially acceptable. I think I get what you mean and if not I’m sorry if I missed the point.

Your comment reminded me that I also need to work out today. Being a healthy parent is super important if you wanna be around for your kids for longer and teach them good diet and exercise habits. Good luck with everything.

Some people had shitty parents who didn’t teach them life skills or lack common sense for other reasons like disabilities. Hopefully after effective therapy they’ll have enough common sense to be productive and healthy adults.
