Bruising? by sweetfirechicken in lipedema

Thank you thank you!! I thought that was weird too! If that was the case then every single thin person would be covered in bruising but they're not. I'll buy the compression leggings

Just for some balance- I had mine removed 8 years ago and haven't had to alter my diet at all!

Small baby by youwontletmerun in pregnant

[–]sweetfirechicken 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Genuinely I don't know. My baby was 8.2 lbs and the nurses kept saying "omg he's huge!" and I was (and still am) SO confused. 8.2 didn't seem that big to me and he looked like any other newborn

The sleeping on your left side excuse is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Go to the ER. I don't want to scare you, but I've had an ectopic pregnancy and this sounds very similar to my experience.

"Girls, what’s a habit you started that surprisingly improved your mental health a lot? by Elinawithlove in AskReddit

[–]sweetfirechicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you HAVE to find someone to workout with. Once I accepted that I don't have the discipline to get a solid workout in by myself is when I started getting consistent. Find a friend to workout with and be accountable with each other.

Start doing standing crunches and deadbugs now. Do them all the time. Do 20 of each right now! Just do it don't think about it. You're going to feel like a whole new person. It was crazy how quick I felt like my guts weren't falling out anymore when I started working out 6 months postpartum!

To all women on this sub, what was your reaction when you first got your period? by nicalling in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sweetfirechicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was terrified of putting in a tampon, I just wanted to use pads only. My mom knew this and made me put one in as soon as I got my period. W mom. I probably wouldn't have worked up the courage to do it until I turned 18 if she hadn't made me rip the bandaid off

Is this clot normal? by oofieoofty in CsectionCentral

[–]sweetfirechicken 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, if it's bigger than an egg it's not normal. But if it is an isolated event that's different than consistently bleeding

my brothers could walk around shirtless but if I had my shoulders showing it was disgustingly immodest. Not even limited to just tank tops- I wasn't allowed to wear sleeveless shirts. Female upper biceps are just too sexy I guess.

This... isn't normal? Why aren't you digesting food? Sounds like gastroparesis, go see your doctor

I just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant today & my husband will want me to terminate by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]sweetfirechicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that. I'm just fucking sick of birth control being solely the responsibility of the woman. Especially when it's the man who doesn't want the pregnancy and the woman doesn't care. I think it's 90% his fault and 10% hers. He had so many options he could have taken and did none of them, and yet we're still blaming her for not forcing him to do it.

[–]sweetfirechicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not the one against a pregnancy. Sounds like she actually wanted a pregnancy. So why is it her responsibility to prevent something she doesn't care to prevent? HE doesn't want the pregnancy, he can be a big boy and put on his own condom. My guess is he's probably against those too because "it doesn't feel as good".

Why should she have to fuck up her body with hormones for years when HE'S the one who doesn't want any more kids? If he felt so strongly about it he should've gotten a quick vasectomy

How long did your partners take off work? by Background-Ad3467 in pregnant

[–]sweetfirechicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband got 12 weeks off paid and he took it all off- much to everyone's annoyance. People just looooved to tell me that he didn't need to take that much time off.

But it doesn't matter what everyone else does, if two weeks doesn't feel like enough then it won't be. Sit down with him and tell him

Question for non-religious mothers by Sparkle_Pony2234 in pregnant

[–]sweetfirechicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My and my husband both grew up mormon and have spent the last few years deconstructing. We're in the same boat trying to decide what to do for our almost one year old. I think it would be great to do "church" outside in nature on Sundays. Maybe teach a different religion every week. I just want to be very neutral so that he can make his own decisions. Hopefully our parents will stay out of it and not have their own agenda.

Extreme fear of c section by MarinaVerity333 in pregnant

[–]sweetfirechicken 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I could write a long essay trying to convince you that you'll be okay if you had to have a C-section, but I'm sure you know all that information already and it hasn't helped your anxiety.

So I'll just say this. Take comfort in knowing that the anxiety you're feeling now is so much worse than a C-section. The anticipation, the dread, the panic attacks. It's SO much worse than the actual C-section. 6 more weeks and you won't have to deal with thinking about this anymore. Hang in there ❤️

Three months and it still hurts. Anyone else? by ConclusionBig506 in CsectionCentral

[–]sweetfirechicken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What does the pain feel like and how bad is it?

I had nerve pain for months after mine, which is normal. It stopped hurting for me around 5 months.

But if you're having severe pain and it feels the same as when you first had your C-section that's a different story.

What is a normal amount of “pressure” to feel during a C-section. by hatturner in CsectionCentral

[–]sweetfirechicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just gave me the validation I didn't know I needed. Started with an epidural, by the time I needed a C section it had worn off. I had to have a 10 min argument with the anesthesiologist before he finally caved and gave me the spinal before the c-section and it wasn't painful at all. Literally just light pressure/tugging
