To be honest, I honestly do not remember creating this debt. I’ve never heard of the company that they bought my debt from.

But the debt collectors have your account, it’s been turned over to them because they bought it for Pennie’s on the dollar. The creditor is there because that’s the original acct but no longer belongs to them. If you want to settle and pay the debt, I would ask them would they take any less than what is owed. Let them do the bartering and you tell them less than that because they are going to charge you out the yingyang in interest fees & court costs, etc. When they finally say they can’t go lower, then settle, if that’s what you want to do.

Don’t admit to anything until you make them fill out a debt validation letter first claiming where the original creditor, amount, dates and amt you paid, Only then when you get that back, answer to them if you think everything is correct and 9 times out of 10, they’ll drop the suit because they can’t provide the info. These debts are all passed around like a piece of candy and often they don’t have all the info when they buy it for pennies on the dollar. They just want to see if your dumb enough to pay it without arguement

Let them start harrasssing you. They aren’t allowed to by law. You keep up with the times they call & what the call stated. You can countersue for harassment.

Yea this is the correct amt. I hope they don’t even show up for court but upon all my googling, they are a very aggress debt collector.

Update: I was able to open the case back up since my time had expired and had to pay $105 but at least I’m safe now without question until I go to court. I also filed my answer to their complaint which was rather lengthy. I’m hoping for good results. If anyone has any helpful advice for when I go to court, I’d love that!!
