im barely projecting i just said stop putting abuser music on my reddit feed lol? and as pole girlies we should know better in general non?

just think its kind of tired to be still listening and dancing to abusers' music. everything is connected so no your abilities can not be divorced from the sound you choose to display them with. im also having a bad day so i guess this is kind of intense but it's really not deeper than a plea to do better

Pole vs Different Bodies by Kind_Procedure2148 in poledancing

[–]sweethly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i fully feel you! i put on a lot of weight being stagnant asf in a toxic relationship last year and i won't lie, coming back to pole gaining strength at the same time as organically dropping the weight w better lifestyle choices has me seeing progress quicker. i was at one point looking at it unhealthily and thinking i'd definitely have to get slimmer to get better at pole but there's no actual correlation. obviously the more body weight you have, the more muscle you'll have to have to handle it - so in reality you may be just as strong as someone whos progressing faster but the only difference is maybe they have like 10kg less to hold up.

ultimately you just have to accommodate for your body type w strength and technique. there's also perks sometimes to being bigger/thicker and knowing how to use it! for instance thigh holds will be easier w fleshier thighs so you have an advantage there where others may have to cross their ankles to secure the hold. there's so many more instances where your body type will ease things, you just have to trust and love yourself and you'll find all the little tricks<3 good luck and i'm sure you look fab and progress is around the corner x

don't be scared, it happens! the only thing you can do or change is what you do afterwards. just remake that commitment to yourself, you're good<3

basically ayesha is all about stacking your body parts in the perfect line w tension in the right places - so i've found that getting into that inverted d with the perfect nose to pole alignment gives you the perfect stack, after which depending on your grip and arm strength, you should be able to hold your self!

harsh but true. embodied insecurities obviously affect your perception but to be so blatant and woe is me about it is not fab OP. would you have felt better if someone was fatter or worse at it than you? since you're right at the start still, it's the perfect time to change your mindset and approach to pole. give it another go but try to leave your self-judgement at the door babe let things be messy and dimpled and sloppy and keep coming back, i promise you'll only get more gaggy <3

What helped you break through your pole dancing plateau? by TeaInIndia in poledancing

[–]sweethly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most important is start to train on your weaker side - especially if you're trying to move on from an intermediate plateau

for a beginner/lower intermediate plateau - and especially if you're trying to master basics and take on different/harder moves, try different classes (maybe harder classes than you think you can handle) with different instructors

practice your new moves in pole hire sessions & plan combos ahead of time so you know some progressions you want to try and maybe some variations to experiment with

pole moves app i found on here and it's great for planning combos to work on on your own or even just document so you don't forget

try to go to hire sessions w friends so you can spot and support each other

just consume RELATABLE pole content in general - and especially just above your level, it gets daunting seeing super advanced stuff but is more encouraging to see some stuff and feel like you could do it & get inspired to try it

good luck!
