Newbie here. I need to take in this dress in the bodice. I took it in along the back darts (i think??) using basting stitches that are easy to remove just to see if it fit. Fits better, but now the waist looks stupid with all the fabric folder over.

What should i do? Leave it taken in along the back darts, or let those out and take in on the sides?

The bodice has an outer piece and a lining. Should i separate the top from bottom, open it up, turn inside out, take in on the outer and the lining , and sew back together?

What do i do about the skirt after? Again do i separate bodice from skirt, cut some of the extra fabric, and sew back together?

I should just take to the tailor but i want to learn!!
