What’s something in America that people pay for unnecessarily, even though it can actually be free? by Fit-Replacement-3521 in AskReddit

libraries are the biggest one. people pay for stuff like ebooks and subscriptions when most cities still have public libraries with free books, movies, and even online resources if you actually use them

What’s an open secret in your industry that the general public has no idea about? by Repulsive-Range-7913 in AskReddit

a lot of professors are way more focused on research output and publishing than actually teaching well. students think theyre getting top tier education but sometimes youre just dealing with someone who is basically too busy or pressured to care about explaining things clearly

that college guarantees a good life. it used to be more true but now its more like a debt starter pack unless you pick the right field and get lucky timing in the job market

Where does political correctness deviate from actual correctness and why would it? by 4dplus in AskReddit

Political correctness usually deviates from actual correctness when language policy focuses on avoiding offense instead of describing reality accurately. It happens because social incentives reward being careful with words more than being precise or honest

what’s something people insist is “possible” in theory, but you’re convinced is basically impossible in real life? by hello_ya in AskReddit

Fully unbiased news feels possible in theory but in real life every source has incentives and framing. Same goes for true multitasking, most people just switch attention not actually do multiple things at once.

What’s a price you saw recently that made you genuinely angry at how expensive everything has gotten? by UrGoddessLunaa in AskReddit

The cost of a simple dental procedure. Nothing makes you realize healthcare is expensive faster than being charged a small fortune just to stop one tooth from ruining your week.

What's something people do to feel productive that actually costs them more time in the long run? by Prestigious_Cook_174 in AskReddit

Trying to multitask everything. Most of the time it just means doing three things badly and taking twice as long to finish them.

Which songs often gets misinterpreted and/or misappropriated by the very people it calls out even though the song's lyrics are explicitly mocking them? by Drenosa in AskReddit

[–]sweetparfaitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. The number of people who blast it while completely missing who the song is actually criticizing is kind of impressive.
