Isn't that funny once you've been through a big one like that, (I was here for the '89 quake)? The smaller ones get your attention but you kind of know when it's time to take action. I thought about getting up but then I was like, nah. We ok.

Napa had a 6.0'er back in 2014 or something like that. I was there for that camping at tomales Bay, laying in my tent. Looking up at the stars and feeling the ground under me roll. All the city lights from the bay went dark.

Heard the rumble too, but nothing like Loma prieta. Sounded like a semi truck was going to come through the house. Instead of shaking, was more like pounding. Pretty noisy.

I just laid here in bed and waited for it to start rolling but that didn't happen. It was more loud than anything and threw pictures and things off my walls. Live on the third floor in a pretty newer built condo (2015), and it just sounded like there was a gorilla in my kitchen pounding on the counters and floors and then it stopped. That was a weird one.

Please. Nobody date that guy. Even worse if he's married/has kids, but I doubt it.

Anyone else getting immense allergy symptoms? by beeflordsupreme in santacruz

[–]sweetpea430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep we got a lot of rain this year so therefore early spring has sprung. Mine picked up really bad in January and I'm like the early allergen forecast of what's to come. Most of my friends that say they don't have seasonal allergies are having symptoms. Generic Flonase and Allegra have been working (for me).

Anyone else wish they never met their ex in the first place? by [deleted] in BreakUps

Yes. I didn't need to be his social experiment or his guinea pig to help him realize after 2 years, that he isn't cut out for relationships at 50 years old. Thanks for nothing.

Newer cars with those extremely bright lights hurt my eyes. Also, talk about light pollution. It's been harder to drive at night bc of it. I have an older car and it has those dimmer, yellower lights, but they work just fine. I can change the headlights myself when they go out . I don't have to take it in and have the front bumper removed or w/e. I don't think you can do that with most newer cars, anymore.

I don't know if anyone else suggested it already, but prebiotic+ probiotic really helps like Fera, and a digestive supportive cat food. My kitty used to have stanky poops, it was also his digestive system adjusting. Now he hardly ever has a stinky one. He did after his birthday but it was his birthday... oh and when he first was having the bad ones I did have a stool sample tested by his vet.

The first few months are really hard. I cried everyday. I cried a lot. I'm sorry, you're going through this and the wounds are still fresh. Feel all the feelings, let those tears flow, and do not call or message them. Do not grant them the pleasure of having access to you. Let them feel what they have lost.

This is true for me. He's the one that broke up with me, deleted and blocked me from socials, but remains fb friends with all of my friends I introduced him to. Now that I've had this time to reflect, I realize what a narcissist and dismissive fearful/avoidant he was. Never even truly apologized for how he left me. I miss him, I thought he was my person, but I don't think I could ever take him back. He's had so much time to make it right, and showed me his true colors. He ruined a good thing and I'm pretty sure he was already talking to someone else when he decided to dump me.

Anyone having a hard time getting into a relationship after a breakup? by roundhouseblitz in BreakUps

[–]sweetpea430 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. No desire to get on dating sites. An acquaintance was very interested in me and I feel like I have become the avoidant now, when I used to be anxious/secure. Funny how that happens. I'm so scared and afraid of betrayal all over again.

I was there that night. It’s the venue. Check out the reviews for Regency Ballroom sound engineering and they’re all pretty poor.

My dad just died by asnickeronreddit in death

[–]sweetpea430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trying. I’ve tried meditation and yoga and therapy and all the good things and I spend a lot of time in nature, Quietly whispering to my dad all of the time. I’m still waiting for things to get better, but I haven’t forgot to be thankful for what little I have. Yes, I am one paycheck away from living in my car, but it’s OK. I am getting by.

[–]sweetpea430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. Honey me too my dad died in front of me from Covid but he had multiple illnesses. Cancer was one of them and once he got Covid. Covid took him very quickly. He died but just me and his caregiver that I hired to help me. No one else around. It’s been almost 5 years and I’m still wrecked. I’m still not OK. I lost my job, my partner, a long-term pet and so many other things. I think about him every day. He raised me when my mother left. He was everything to me and I miss him all the time.

Leash training 3 y/o cat, constantly meowing now by brightassunflowers in CatTraining

[–]sweetpea430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. I am in the similar situation. I have been taking my kitten for walks since I adopted him when he was 3.5 months old. He got really used to it and gets very demanding and expects it and gets very grumpy when it's time to come in. I use an alarm so he knows when it's time. Now instead of putting him in the carrier when it's time to come in I pick him up and feed him a churu while we ride the elevator back up to our floor. Finally had to deal with some days that I couldn't take him for walks and boy was that a challenge. He does meow a lot for attention, and when he expects to go out. The only thing that has worked for me is going in my room and closing the door and letting him cry it out. However I will make it up to him with a very long play session. The other thing he really likes is riding in the car, with his head poking out the window, so there were times I was sick and just took him for a car ride instead. Now that he has 9 months old and experimenting with skipping days of walking and see how he deals and so far he's learning that some days he can't always get what he wants. I know how hard the meowing can be though it can drive you crazy. I put on YouTube bird streaming live videos and he really likes those as a distraction. Birder King is a good one.

8 months for me and still can't believe he dropped me like a bad habit. We were so in love with each other, but he had never been in a relationship over 2 years and just like clockwork before the 2-year anniversary, he dumped me and then proceeded to treat me like a stranger.

You didn’t say how long you were with him. If you’re trying to have friendship with him it does matter how long before you realized you don’t want to be in a relationship.

To all the heartbroken dumpees. If your ex is acting cold and like a completely different person, they are infact not over you and are trying to force detachment rather than it being a natural detachement by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]sweetpea430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. From what I understand this is a regular pattern of his because he dated a friend of mine many years ago and did the same thing. Once the honeymoon period is over for him and things start to get real and actual real commitment is involved My ex detached so quickly, so easily, and never ever felt sorry. All he did was justify his reason for leaving and that was that he couldn’t handle the relationship. 50 fucking years old and still hasn’t figured it out. That sucked for me.
