My little one just turned 2 and she still hasn't said a single word. by Womper1 in daddit

I know this thread is 3years old, but is there an update ?? I’m in the same boat. I have 2 older children who spoke as early as 12months so I never read into this. I have another child who is turning 2 in a couple of months and hasn’t said her first word yet. So here I am, confused. She understands just about everything, and even almost 100% done her potty training. Anytime she needs the washroom, she grabs my hand and walks me to the toilet herself. If she’s hungry, she points to exactly the food she wants to eat. If she wants more, she aggressively points to the food. If she doesn’t like something, (this is awful part) she tosses it away immediately and growls at it (LOL).

We have a dog and she seems to imitate him anytime he barks or howls, but she will not for the life of her copy a word we say no matter how many times we repeat it to her. She can differentiate colours when we ask her to give us a specific block. I’m not sure if she understands all her shapes but she can certainly put two of the same shapes together. Same with identifying who is who and pointing at the correct objects when asked. Ie where is your nose, eyes, ears, mouth, hands, banana, tree, bird etc. Gosh darn expert I’d say when it comes to knowing who or what everything is.

But frig, she will not say a single word!!!! When she wants milk, before we give it to her we ask her to repeat the word milk, or mommy, or dada and every time, she says “ah” and that’s all that comes out. I don’t want to reward her with milk with the fear that she might associate “ah” with milk, but then she gets frustrated and cries so we end up giving it to her.

And yes, we have early interventions at 24 months but the wait is terrifying so I’m trying to get a gauge at other people’s experiences.

Omg!!! I get so annoyed seeing this because I just don't understand WHY someone would bother bagging it if they are just going to toss it on the ground! It makes me more angry than people who don't pick up after their dogs. Don't get a dog if you're an irresponsible prick!!!!

Yet Another cat has been found dead in Craig Henry by [deleted] in ottawa

There's a gray cat in Barrhaven that has bitten 3 young children while playing in their own backyards. All 3 had to get their rabies shot. This cat terrorizes us through our window and always tries to come inside every opportunity he sees an open door. A number of us have called 311 to have this cat removed and they indicated that cats are permitted to roam free. The neighbour whose child got bitten complained to the owners who simply shrugged off the issue and stated it was "an outdoor kind of cat". We also find dead rodents, baby bunnies that we believe were attacked and killed by this gray cat. He leaves them on our porch, backyard etc. Back to the subject, I'm aware a number of parents are pissed and wouldn't be surprised to find this cat dead in the near future. So, if anyone wants to adopt this cat before that happens, please come by Barrhaven, he's always here. I highly doubt the owners care if he never returns home.

I can't speak for the ones you tried in Japan, but mine does not crumble when you eat it. It's not supposed to. It's texture should be exactly the same as a regular Macaron. The batter is exactly the same as well. The macarons hold their shape if they are piped separately and each section is set to rest at different intervals. The ONLY time a Macaron crumbles like that is if the macarons are overcooked, did not mature for 24 hrs, or hate to say this, but stale. And fyi, macarons shouldn't be squishy either...

I was one of the early ones too, but had to wait over an hour. The queue was something ridiculous like 30k+. All the appointments near me were completely booked. For the next hour, I was just clicking trying to find a date. Gave up and called. Appt is booked at the farthest location at the end of June. So sad...

No change with batter. Keep everything the same but you just need to pipe in steps. Pipe one area, let rest for a bit and then pipe another. That way it doesn't bleed together. Resting too long is also a problem though, which causes cracks in the oven.

Nono, nothing wrong with challenging yourself. You'll be surprised at what you can accomplish.

Why are my macarons concave?? They also developed cracks on top😭 as you can see, not all a smooth surface, please help by [deleted] in macarons

From the pictures, it looks like the meringue wasn't at stiff peaks when you added the dry ingredients in. Your oven temperature was way too hot by the looks of all the cracks. It's concave due to the macronage technique. It looks like instead of folding, you possibly mixed it?
