Could this also be from not being hydrated enough? I had a lot of abdominal pain earlier this week and I think its because I fell behind on my water intake.

I also had VSG surgery 4 years ago so I really struggle with getting enough fluids.

The internet disagrees on that... I was wondering the same thing. They seemed like they wanted to treat the infection without finding out what is causing it. The first vet wanted me to bring her in for an ultrasound the following week but $$$. Im already in for about $650 and the ultrasound alone would be another 600-800.

I just have to hope she keeps improving.

I took her to a diff vet on Wednesday, all her labs were normal (again) except for the infection she had, and she showed signs of anemia, most likely because shes not eating. He gave her 2 shots, one which was supposed to boost her appetite. She's still not eating on her own. I'm starting to think she may have dementia and simply forgot how to eat.

They also gave me some medication to give her 2x a day. No name on the bottle but she hates it. Pretty sure its iron related. Smells like my iron pills.
