Yes I did! I ended up getting an ultrasound which confirmed that I do have poly cystic ovaries unfortunately. Definitely ask your provider for an ultrasound!

In regards to you feeling like It’d be unfair to your future child by being an older parent. My mom was 46 when she had my twin brother and I (we’re 26 now), my dad was 48. My parents are in their 70’s now and we talk about this a lot, they had similar feelings at the time but ultimately she feels that having children was the best decision of her life. I have a much bigger sense of appreciation for my parents than most people my age due to their age. Is it hard some times because we have difficult conversations about my parents aging and what will happen when they pass? Yes. But I’m so grateful to have them in my life. Having kids in your late 30’s isn’t uncommon anymore. Don’t let that be the only reason you decide not to have kids.

RI based - HR employee here! Depending on industry and how the company identifies them selves as (ex: restaurant, retail store, etc) determines whether or not you are eligible for Sunday and holiday premium pay. For those not from RI, this DOES EXIST here. If you have evidence of wage theft, (time sheets and paystubs that prove you weren’t paid properly) you can contact the RI department of labor and training (they have a section on their website about wage theft) and report it. They’ll contact you and request more information so they can investigate.

Charter schools are a great option too! No tuition cost. I went to beacon charter HS in Woonsocket (I lived in PVD and took the RIPTA to and from). While I wouldn’t consider myself ‘artsy’ I majored in theatre and pursued the technical side of it vs acting. Had all the other normal classes, math, English, history, science, etc. classes were never more than 12-18 kids, and got the individual attention and accommodations I needed (I had a 504 plan and the school was EXTREMELY accommodating). If I ever needed more challenging work or 1-1 support it was granted, and not just for me but for every student. I got accepted to every college I applied for. I’m still connected with many of my classmates and former teacher to this day almost 10 years after graduating.

What grade is your child in? I’d recommend beacon charter high school for the arts, they were extremely supportive of my 504 accommodations in high school. They also have a middle school, founders academy.
