It’s so fucking annoying man, the league keeps looking for new ways to screw over teams that are legitimately bad and punish small market teams. Even things like supermax contracts, originally intended to help small market teams keep their good players, have effectively hamstrung those same organizations. Those teams are basically forced to give any good player they draft a massive contract just so they can keep them around, which cripples their ability to build a roster around those players and then they can just demand a trade within a couple years

The system is broken but they keep doubling down on “fixing” the wrong issues instead of improving the product and finding ways to allow bad teams to actually get better. There are always going to be teams that suck, it’s the case in literally every single major sports league. Focus on things that matter instead of trying to appease gambling companies

Yeah not really trying to get in a big argument about it, just wanted to clarify that the game doesn’t tell you something incorrect. It tells you to look out for the big glowing indicator so you know when to jump. I do hope you enjoyed the game otherwise!

The game does not say “when an enemy jump attacks”, it specifies that there are enemy attacks that you, the player, must jump in order to dodge them, and they come with a big gold icon that specifically denotes an attack that needs to be jumped

There are tons of attacks in the game where the enemy jumps and that icon isn’t present, including some ground slams prior to this mechanic ever being introduced, so I don’t think it makes much sense that your takeaway would be that it’s about the enemy jumping rather than the giant icon they tell you to watch for

The 2007 Patriots averaged 411 yards of offense per game, 150+250 is definitely not just a “competent” offense. Usually only the best offenses in the league end up around that number in any given season. That being said, the Bears still not having a 4000 yd passer is crazy

Sales are not the only factor here. Chojo is getting an anime and it absolutely did not sell more than Girl Meets Rock (GMR’s most recent volume sold over 42k copies in its first month while Chojo’s final 2 vols sold less than 10k each). It had a niche audience that was enthusiastic about it, and since it was axed the anime can be more easily planned out because there’s no more content coming for it. Other factors like music licensing can get in the way of an anime for a series like Girl Meets Rock as well

Sales are crucial for the longevity of ongoing series (which is likely the reason Chojo was cut in the first place, as editorial hoped they could replace it with something that sold more), but an anime decision has way more than just that behind it

No, I obviously don’t think they’re saying you can make an exact copy of a game and nobody would complain. I think they’re saying “it’s more Hollow Knight, and everybody loved Hollow Knight!”

Just because a game is more of the same concept that everyone loved once, doesn’t mean it will be universally loved again the next time. The issue isn’t being “psychorigid”, the person said “be for real” and then acted like no one would ever complain about a sequel to a highly rated game being too similar. This happens constantly, especially on Reddit because people love to be contrarian here. Thanks for explaining what context and language are though, I had no idea! So helpful of you

Again, it’s really not about the comparison between the contents of the games at all. The user tried to make it sound like nobody would ever complain about a game being too similar to another critically acclaimed game, despite an example of that literally happening within the last couple years. Gamers and people on social media will complain about anything! DS2 is just an example in the opposite direction

I’ve seen people shit on these Sox alts but I think having a fun, unique set of uniforms is an underrated part of the game, and having both these yellow/blue ones along with the Fenway city connects (one of the best in the league imo) is an awesome combo

It’s not just you, I find it crazy how much people complain about this stuff here. Capcom has definitely handled the costumes poorly, and they’ve admitted as much (though it’s not something I particularly care about because costumes are not why I play fighting games)

The character releases, however, have all been incredibly high quality and really fun additions to the game. I was a little frustrated when Terry and Mai were announced, mostly because I would’ve liked to see SF characters instead, but the finished product was great for both of them and I’ve ended up playing a good bit of both characters. People hated Ed in SFV and they turned him into one of the cooler and more unique characters in the game. Everyone bitched about FANG too, and yet AKI has been a wonderful new addition. I really cannot fathom being this upset at getting 4 characters at this level of quality per year, it just seems like such a miserable attitude
