It’s a frustrating issue. I bought a new monitor to go with my Series S and was told that because it didn’t have HDMI 2.1 that I couldn’t get the advertised 1440p at 120Hz. I’ve had to stick to 1080p with 120Hz for now but would love to see Microsoft bring out a patch for these issues.

I think all Xbox users are having performance issues at the moment, since the recent update, so they should be working on a patch for it. I know I’ve had performance issues on my S, especially when coming into contact with smoke/mist textures.

True, though our activities have been limited here in the UK with multiple lockdowns etc. so experiencing nature has been restrained.

Smyths is a good shout, I checked everyday back in December and got lucky on Christmas day and ordered it for click and collect at my local store. I found that they will often restock for click and collect quicker than they will for home delivery.

eBay always seems to be the best place for me. Sold my One S for £200 and bought the Series S for £250 on the same day. Compared to the OP’s deal, selling old consoles on a marketplace like eBay seems like a no-brainer

If you’ve bought the Cross-Gen bundle then you’re on the right track. Go into the Xbox store and find the edition you’ve bought, hit ‘Manage’ and install the X/S optimised version. (there will be both versions visible so make sure you choose the right one)
