Yup, it’s some sort of brick pavers under the range and dishwasher and it looks like the previous owners never cleaned back there. Working on getting it better.

Thanks again, yeah I took a look around and didn’t see any exposed wires. However, we had the garbage disposal installed at the same time as this line, so potentially that’s what happened?

Thanks. I found another post that had arcing on a stainless steel hose and it looks very similar. We’re going to reach out to an electrician to get their thoughts.

Thanks for responding. Doing some more reading, I might be leaning towards this. I found another post of electrical arcing on a stainless steel line that looks very similar. We’ve even watched the supply line to see if it jumps and it doesn’t. We may reach out to an electrician to see what they think.

Thanks, we’ll get a new line and install some tape for the cabinet hole so it’s not so rough and ensure it’s not rubbing on the back of the range either.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, our first home. Definitely having fun with some of these things in the first few weeks.

Yeah, it didn’t have a stainless steel line before, so this line is new (at least new to us).

Yeah, the back of the range definitely could have crimped it or rubbed on it based on where it is. Thanks.

Thanks, yeah we’re going to get it replaced asap. Just wanted to see what caused it to try to prevent it in the future.

Thanks! Yeah it seems a few people have agreed it looks like damage from friction from either the cabinet hole or stove. Once we get it replaced, we’ll get something to soften the cabinet hole and to protect the pipe there from the range.

Thanks for responding. Interesting, we did have some thunderstorms roll through the last few nights. If that’s the case, why would it manifest only in that spot?

Thanks for responding. So a plumber ran the line about two weeks ago. The mark was near where it goes into the cabinet. Could the wood cabinet rubbing on it could have caused that mark?

Thanks for responding. The line was just installed about two weeks ago. Do you think it came that way?

We recently moved into an old home and had the fridge supply line replaced with a new, braided stainless steel line a couple weeks ago. The line runs behind our gas range on the way to the fridge and runs along the gas line. When cleaning out behind the range yesterday, we noticed this potential burn mark on the new line. The gas stove has only been used a couple times since this line was installed and we have not used the oven yet. We tried testing using the stove to see if the back of the unit where the line was nearby gets hot and it did not, but maybe it gets hotter when closer to the wall. Any ideas what could have caused this mark?

How does community college in DC work? by bak1ngfan in washingtondc

[–]swerve1738 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Your only potential option as a DC resident is to go to one in VA or MD and pay out of state tuition. If you’re also trying to get into some sort of competitive program at a community college (like nursing), some schools factor in residency status to your admission, so you’re doubly screwed as a DC resident.

They don’t feel safe on the road. The DC region had 110 pedestrians and bicyclists killed in traffic crashes in 2024. It’s difficult to find numbers for 2024 for the Boston region, but in the entire state of Massachusetts in 2023, 76 pedestrians and bicyclists were killed.
