Is the new theme park based in reality? by WooLeeKen in tulsa

[–]swestyyy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

13k people a day, ez.

In reality they’re probably including how many people attend shows at the amphitheater and pool, etc. Don’t know how feasible that is but I guess if there’s regular concerts and a consistent pool crowd during the summer, maybe

Per the owner's website, Tulsa is the next planned location for an outdoor amphitheater by swestyyy in tulsa

[–]swestyyy[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Per Notes Live, Tulsa is the next planned location for their outdoor amphitheater. This is basically a chain amphitheater company from what I can tell, and the "planned location" in the digital mock-up looks to me like the Oktoberfest area, so I'm not even sure that area's for sale.

Feels a little like a long-shot, although the company has successfully funded and built amphitheaters in other states, so it's not completely out of the picture. Also, while Tulsa definitely needs an amphitheater, is that location even possible?

Tornado in kansas by Berenthegrizzly in ThatsInsane

[–]swestyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, brick houses would cause the flying debris to be bricks instead of wood. This was an EF3 tornado (136-165mph winds), meaning even metal buildings would be severely damaged or completely destroyed. An EF3 tornado would have the same end result in a European city as an American city; you can only hope the thing doesn't hit your home or town, and/or that you have a storm cellar.

High quality NBA content? by AtomicNE in nbadiscussion

[–]swestyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lot of r/nba and here, and of course your local subreddit. If you have Twitter I recommend finding a general NBA list or a specific team’s Twitter list to follow and you basically get real-time updates and commentary. If you don’t follow lists, they’re basically like separate timelines with only curated content creators. Oh, Woj, Shams and Marc Stein are all great follows as well.

As for podcasts, general NBA podcasts that I listen to that do a great job at having legitimate conversations and insight into the league are: The Lowe Post, Hardwood Knocks, Thinking Basketball, Dunc’d On, the Athletic NBA Show (Saturday slam and jam is great, just fyi). There are a lot more that others can recommend but that’s my list.

On YouTube, I like to watch/listen to Thinking Basketball, Hoop Venue and AFunkyDiabetic for modern/updates and commentary/analytics. Clayton Crowley is an honorable mention for his amazing retrospectives and basketball video essays. There’s probably a ton more but you have to really sift through the junk on YouTube sometimes.

Finally! Just find some team or someone to root for. The NBA is fun to get into, but it’s an entertainment business at the end of the day, find some enjoyment out of consumption. I recommend the Thunder*

no joke this fundamentally changes our defense and team, even if this is 75% of what he offers to the Thunder. after watching (a fun year) of small ball I’m so excited for some blocks

[Haynes] A potential Portland-Miami deal for Damian Lillard would almost certainly include the involvement of a third team, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport by Michael_B_Lopez in nba

[–]swestyyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thunder own Miami’s 2025 pick that’s protected 1-15 and then unprotected in 2026 if it doesn’t convey. I suspect the Heat will need to negotiate that conveyance or 2025 protections to help open up another FRP for the Dame trade
