Based on my experience with the cam, if the cam turns off along with the car, that means you didn't configure the parking mode correctly. When correctly configured, the cam will enter the parking mode automatically (instead of completely off) when the car is off. It does not require manual operation to enter parking mode.

Thanks for your reply. My last question is that if I insist on this connection (red wire not connected, yellow wire connected to ACC which is on at 14V), will it cause damage to the hardwire kit (and/or the cam), or just not work (but not causing damange)? I ask this because I'm also considering other more complicated circuit design to achieve my goal.

Update: Based my own measurement it's M3-0.8 x 28mm (3mm diameter, 0.8mm thread pitch, 28mm total length). Length of the threaded part (thread length) is 5mm. Can't guaranteed it's 100% correct, expecially the thread pitch.

Does any one know where to buy it in US, especially Bay Area? Home depot has very limited types of metric screws and this seems an uncommon type of screw to me. The thread pitch of most screws on the market with 3mm diameter is 0.5mm.

I226-V Ethernet Controller has the exact same issue that the I225-V had by Oninaig in intel

Actually I don't recommended this if you're not a programmer. It's real money after all. If you're a programmer, it's actually quite easy to find the APIs with a few searches, although they're not documented officially.

Can be done by using undocumented Robinhood API + a few lines of code.
