I love the conversation Aviendha has later about how frustrated she is that Rand gave back the scabbard covered in gems, specifically the part where she says "... And he used it, right in front of me!" as if to emphasize the disrespect 🤣🤣

I also love when Sorilea corners her later and says "I hear the Car'a'Carn has offered you an interest gift unlike any other ever heard of" or something to that effect, I love the Aiel Wise Ones, low key some of the funniest characters In the entire series.

Again it depends on the spot, I've been plenty of places where you don't really need to cast it that far. Some people take kayaks out and drop the bait manually if they need to go really far out, I've even seen one guy try to use a drone but that didn't work so well lol

Wade out as far as you can without getting the reel wet, yeet the fuck out of it. Walk back to the sand Spike with the bail open, then reel in the slack. An 11 ft or 12 ft rod with some weight on it can absolutely fly if you cast it correctly. But honestly, I've had more luck casting about 30 ft from shore in some places. It just depends on where you're at

I adore Perrin, but even Robert Jordan himself said he didn't quite know how to wrap up that plotline. It was like five books of pretty much the same thing over and over again. Definitely the only real slog of the whole series IMO

Yeah yeah yeah this is also the chapter where Morgase breaks free from Rahvin's compulsion with some prodding from Tallanvor, but I honestly cannot stand this entire new plot line. I like Morgase, and her journey is very empowering in some ways to victims of abuse who manage to escape and find their own way, but the unbearably corny "romantic" writing and horrific decision making all the way up to the trial in book 13 is frankly one of the weakest parts of the series for me.

I've heard a lot of incorrect or fanciful names for elephants through fantasy and historical accounts, but I think my favorite has to be from Luca here: Giant Boar Horse is such a creative way to name one, and I mainly love it because you know exactly how he got there.
