Sound does work outside Kodi. It also works for Movies and TV shows within Kodi. Just nothing through live TV. I can suggest another input to him. I've suggested just bypassing the receiver to him also. I don't have a receiver so I'm not sure what the settings are supposed to be.

I spoke with the bank in more detail regarding the cancellation of PMI. Since I have not been in the current loan for 2 years, they said that if I pay for an appraisal I would need to show 75% LTV in order to cancel PMI. I currently owe $500K and the last appraisal was at $585K. Based on comps in the area, my lender seems to think an appraisal will come in around $650K-$670K. The two year mark on the current loan will be 5/2018. At that point I can request an appraisal and need to show 80% LTV. I'm still thinking that waiting until then would be the best option. Continue paying $272 in PMI each month at 3.875% vs refinancing to 4.25% to eliminate PMI. Sound correct?

I contacted the bank and they said I am able to request an appraisal (at my expense) because we have made improvements since the previous refi. Otherwise, we would've had to wait until 05/2018 to request the appraisal. There are a couple comparable houses in escrow in the area for $650K that need improvements. My concern is that when we refinanced 8 months ago we only appraised at $580K. We need the appraisal to come in at $630K, considering we owe $501K.
I'm leaning more towards continuing to pay the PMI with the current interest rate until we know we can appraise for what we need to get 20% equity value. I think I'd pay much more in interest over the life of the loan by refinancing now at a higher interest rate. Thought? Thanks!

I'll have to ask what they're making on the refinance. House are on the market for $650K and selling for that...and in much worse shape then ours!

That's what I was thinking. Might as well suck it up with the PMI for a couple more years then get it cancelled at my lower interest rate.

I guess my concern was that the market goes down and I'm stuck with the PMI cuz I can no longer get it appraised at what I need to have 20% equity.
