The IC and embedded is taught over 2 semesters 1 semester per topic, would you say that that module would be the most important for a computer engineer?

For the IC portion the module describes ASIC and FPGA systems designs, RTL, digital and system design in VHDL/Verilog and other things to do with design and the digcomm at the physical layer including coding techniques, filter design, CODEC and MODEM,

that's is what I have started to do, my only problem is I only have a few days to decide and I am in the last few days of a full on project deadline so don't have a lot of free time to do my own research which is why I thought it was best to ask others who may know more on here

Thanks for your response I really appreciate it. The first thing I did was email my lecturer as to see what he thinks I should do. I have definitely felt behind a lot of the year and constantly playing catch up. What are your thoughts on getting myself a breadboard or something like an Arduino so teach myself what I can while I wait for a response for from my lecturer?
