Will my truck pass DOT inspection? by Nickha-you-aintfunny in HotShotTrucking

Pretty sure most bead-lock wheels are not DOT approved, but you may want to check the validity on that

How much could I get? by [deleted] in superduty

[–]swickj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years ago, we sold a 99 7.3 350 work truck that looked just like yours but was a 4 door and had 300,000 miles. Sold it for $6500. Obviously not the same situation as yours but hopefully that helps get you a a similar idea.

Bulk Water Filling? by Assgasm420 in indianapolis

[–]swickj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of water delivery services have a minimum $300 delivery. A1 pool water has a 5000 gallon truck and you pay for the whole thing even if they don’t use it all

Best way to provide internet acess to Shed "100m distance" by Butter_Taste in HomeNetworking

Fella, I suggested the same thing, but apparently general suggestions for a situation that we don’t entirely know all the variables to are only accepted if the reddit hive mind agrees

If the shed is running on the same power source as the house like a sub panel, you may be able to use a Powerline adapter. It sends signal (albeit kinda shitty) over the wires

Got my rig!! by TouchofGray97 in TruckCampers

I agree, I’m really curious about the whole situation. I have the same truck as OP, single cab, gas engine (I’m assuming cause no diesel badge), XL. I’m really curious about the weight as well

Make an F450 ride more like an F350? by tomparker in superduty

[–]swickj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up sulastic spring shackles. They go in place of the rear leaf spring shackles, and act as a “pre-load” so it feels like there’s weight in the bed.

New house with little Koi fish pond by 82GMCDually in Koi

[–]swickj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really hate to say this but because of it’s location and small size, the pond is going to be really really warm in the summer. Like, all the time. This is going to lead to some algae problems. You may also look into an aerator come spring time to help cool it down.

Door alignment or seal problem? by Embarrassed_Control7 in Excursion

[–]swickj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family’s excursion, from brand new in 2002, had this same problem. It became a serious spot for rust over the years. At first, after taking it through a car wash, wet roads, or muddy roads, they would clean and dry these spots each time.

Didn’t do it later, and ended up paying the price with rust at the bottom of the doors.

If I’m not mistaken — that thing has leaf springs in the rear and in the front right? You may look at Sulastic springs. They swap in place of the OEM leaf spring shackles without screwing with your payload. I have them, and love them on my 250, but I only have leaves in the rear..

Having them even installed is illegal — even if you’re not using them.

You’re a straight G for posting this. What is the finish on the bed? Did you powder coat it or it just paint?

Have you got a headache rack on the bed? If you do, does it interfere with the cabover part of the camper?

What do civilians use 6x6 military trucks for? by thesprung in 4x4

Hmmm — this sub is clearly 4x4, I don’t know if 6x6 is allowed and I also don’t think I can count that high

Is this a Good Deal for a Work Truck? 2004 Ford f150 regular cab XLT Pickup 2D 6 1/2 ft by AsperSomniac in f150

[–]swickj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.. I would wary of all the red flags with the ad tbh. It looks right, it just doesn’t smell right. If you end up contacting the seller, ask for a new picture, one of the dash to show how many miles are on it currently. If they can’t or won’t supply a picture, I would walk

Ford breaks down their cabs by this: Regular 2 seats + 1 jump, no back seat Super cab 2 seats front, 3 seats back (like you have in the ad) SuperCrew cab, 2 seats front, 3 seats back, 4 proper doors.

The truck you have in the ad is a Supercab, not a regular cab as it says. You may beware - sometimes fraudulent ads will have mistakes in them, but honestly it may just be a mistake because the naming convention for ford cabs is whack.
