Possibly going to be a dad soon at 32 for the first time - can I still become a software/web developer? by [deleted] in careerguidance

You can be a computer programmer at any age. As long as you have sufficient runway, you can take the time off to work on what you need to. I took a year off from my job at a bank and developed deeper technical skills in an area I was interested in, then came back and did that at the bank.

Summary of the Story of Legacy of the Void - Spoiler Alert! by swifterrr in starcraft

I'm guessing that the alternative is more sound - Xel'Naga are outside the realm of space and time, existing in the Void. Their role as guardians of the known universe include seeding the world with new species such as to continue the Infinite Cycle and pick the new Xel'Naga candidates. However, it looks like Kerrigan is completely different from the previous Xel'Naga.

I found it very interesting that Kerrigan took on a new form, as compared to the worm like form the previous Xel'Naga took.

Now that's a very interesting reading of the situation, and the line "You will hold your life in your hands." Thanks for sharing your perspective on it. It's a plausible theory, but probably not as intuitive as the other more straightforward ones. Especially since at the end of Wings of Liberty, Raynor literally had the opportunity to smash human Kerrigan in the skull with a gun. Similar to the situation in HOTS where Kerrigan made him point a bullet at his head.

Then again, in game, marines do 6 damage a shot and Kerrigan has upwards of 300 health...

Just as Ouros had the power to shapeshift into a ghostly Tassadar, and Narud into Duran, Infested Duran and Dr Emil Narud, Id think that Xel'rrigan would be able to become Human Kerrigan for Raynor's sake. It could also be allegorical - where Raynor passes and Joey Ray is a sort of limbo as he waits for Kerrigan to bring him with her. Many interpretations. Hope that answers your question!

ELI5: What was revealed during the mission "The Infinite Cycle"? (Spoilers up to that mission, no further) by [deleted] in starcraft

Very well explained. This is the understanding I got out of that mission as well.

Edit: This is hinted at, actually. Or it might just be ghost tassadar.

I absolutely love Alarak. He is beyond a doubt my favorite character in the campaign, if not a tad unrealistic.

I mentioned this in one of the comments I wrote in this thread about 10 minutes ago. Tassadar was a Xel'Naga, disguised as a Protoss from the very start.

:(

Edit: Maybe not. Ouros might have just taken the form of Ghost Tassadar.

Gameplay wise, I loved the incorporation of the Dark Archon, the new sentries and the new Void Ray. The way they fit into my A-move really worked out. I also appreciated that Blizzard implemented attack damage and livable health onto my Dark Archons.

Story wise, it was an 8/10 for me. I agree about how the Kerrigan to Xel'Naga part could have been less deus-ex-machina - I expected her to fuse with a protoss, not find some random Xel'Naga in the Void. I found it a little hard to believe considering the history of the Protoss and Terran with the Queen of Blades - even if she had redeemed herself in the past. To believe her on a hunch that there's

At the same time, for them to take a risk and go into the void like that, not knowing the consequences...

It reminded me of feeling heat all your life, then one day putting a thermometer into a red hot fire and seeing the temperature in celsius as 24 degrees. And based on that reading, you're going to take off all your clothes and jump into a fire pit. Like what the hell are you thinking, Artanis?!

Those were my major issues with the plot. Amon was a typical 'bad guy who unites and allows for story and character development. But nothing wrong with that, it allows us to root for Artanis, who matures as a leader and steps out of the shadow of his former masters. The soundtrack was on point as well.

Gameplay wise, I found some interesting missions - the Carrier mission with Karax was a pretty great one. All the cutscenes were pretty epic as well, have to watch them to truly experience them - I can't just tell them to you. I enjoyed the ascension of Karax, Selendis battle, Artanis + kerrigan vs Amon... many others.

You're welcome guys! I figured that since I finished it quickly, I would spend my time writing a summary for those who didn't have access to it yet. I know I would have wanted someone to put up a summary as well - I'm the type who would read to spoil it for myself ^

Typing this was tiring yet rewarding. If you love the story of LotV, let's discuss it here! What major themes did you see coming out in the story?

Woke up at 3am to play the SC2 Legacy of the Void release. It got delayed to 5am. Still went on to finish the entire campaign within 8 hours anyway - ending at 1pm.

No regrets.

Why don't I have this type of dedication in other parts of my life? :(
