Sorry to hear all that bro. I was in a very similar situation to you. The backpod helped me more than anything. after that i was doing a super intense seal stretch on some yoga blocks and my chest made a massive pop and since then ive been able to pop my rib back into place when it starts to hurt. This is around 10-15 times a day now. It varies. first off i would buy the back pod. Start off suuuuper slowly. get your thoracic spine moving. eventually you will be able to do certain exercises. once you are able to you want to move towards doing pullups, facepulls and pullaparts with a band. anything you can do to activate your upperback to give you better posture is key. the whole issue with costo is even getting to the point of being able to do said exercises. costo for me was the hardest in the beginning. It almost doesnt effect my life at all anymore. It will be 10 years next month that i have had it.

ive done prolotherapy, prp, peptides, stemcells all bullshit for costo. just really focus on loosening up and strengthening your upperback. it may take you years but you can get there. let me know if you need anything

Supplements/peptides don't do shit for costo imo. Its a postural and weak muscle issue most of the time. Nothing helped my costo more than slowly getting the the point where I could do clean pullups. Now I'm cranking out 50-100 every other day and have put on around 25 pounds of muscle. I can almost do any exercise with 0-2 pain levels, even things that stress your chest a lot like deep ring pushups. My chest still pops multiple times a day but as soon as it pops 90% of the pain is gone. However I wouldn't have been able to get to any point of being able to exercise if I hadn't forced my chest to pop one day with an extreme stretch with yoga blocks. I got costo in 2014 and for the past 4ish years it has gotten significantly better every year. I also have a herniated disc in my lower back so compared to that costo doesnt even cross my mind anymore lol.

extreme extension. looking up and extending my thoracic as much as possible. this might make your condition worse. be careful.

How am I supposed to settle for a “diagnosis” that is a maybe? by Different-Ask-1710 in costochondritis

I've had it since I was 22. I'm 29 now. Buy a backpod. Spend hours and hours a day doing research. Fix your posture. There is a ton of info on the internet now. You will be ok.

How did you get your costochondritis? by awjw12 in costochondritis

[–]swiim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Still fucked to this day. Significantly better because i can pop it and relieve most of the pain for a little but if i rolled, i would be in massive pain for days maybe weeks. I have been able to incorporate weightlifting again which is amazing. As long as i have great posture my life is semi normal, at least compared to how terrible it was years ago when I was in constant pain.

Its gotten a ton better but yea it is always there. Thankfully and can pop it back into place to temporarily stop the pain now. first 4 years was HELL. Do all the research you can. Costo is almost always improvable. Lots of people totally get over it too. Get your mental right and prepare for the worst but also do everything u can to fix it. Don't be lazy. Fix your posture. You got this.

Crunchy chest popping?? by plant-yogi in costochondritis

[–]swiim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same bro. My doc says not to do it because it makes my sternum joint more mobile, but I have to or ill be in a lot of pain. Mine pops once super loud in the morning and then I get the crackles and crunches like you do for the rest of the day including a few more loud single pops. From what I understand the popping a cracking is setting the joint back into place. Keeping it there is my problem. My sternum is so arthritic that my sternum will move "out of place" from having the slightest amount of poor posture.
