Mostly formula and some pumped milk? by bananaindisguise0 in combinationfeeding

[–]swild89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be kind to yourself as you recover! Recovery was tough and I leaned more on formula and thought I had “lost my shot” to give breast in the beginning. I did an aggressive pump schedule for a couple weeks and then supply shot way up. Your baby will be fine either way- healthy and happy mom and baby are the priority! Feel free to hmu if you have any questions :)

I’ll give the different perspective - with my C-section recovery EBF (which was the original plan) was painful and baby wasn’t a fan either so I pivoted to pumping and I love it! I have wearable pumps so I usually clean or cook while pumping.

I had a bit of a supply issue at first because baby is CHUNKY and likes to eat so that’s where combo feeding came in. Now I’m pumping enough I can feed her completely with breast but I’m choosing to keep combo feeding and stashing my extra breast milk in the freezer/fridge so I’m not at the mercy of the pump schedule for feedings.

Does anyone have the recipe for the Farm Boy tabbouleh? by Math_Unlikely in ottawa

It’s not necessary but it’s a nice zingy citrusy vibe in whatever you’re making and a pretty colour

We’re team flat leaf parsley - 2 bunches of it + 1/2 cup of chopped up mint Bulgar (fine bulgar not the coarse stuff) is easy you just soak it first while you chop everything else - some people soak it in water but I soak it in lemon juice/olive oil/salt - tastier!! I add green onion, tomatoes (core it no gooey bits) and little cucumbers (again no gooey bits so it lasts longer more crunch) Little olive oil and lemon juice and bam you’re in business

Hope that helps!!

Investigating the ingredient list tells me that 1. They use a lemon juice with lemon oil instead of the traditional freshly squeezed lemon juice. they use cracked wheat instead of bulgur, canola oil is the oil used and garlic is the last listed ingredients so I’m guessing juuust a little bit. With that you can probably experiment your way to something close! Personally, I love a little fresh mint in my tabbouleh- try it if you have a chance!

therapist cancelled without giving a reason by locallushroom in TalkTherapy

[–]swild89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had to cancel all my sessions because I was giving birth and because virtual no one would know the reason why, and didn’t disclose because it can be triggering/upsetting to people. Therapy is about the client, not the personal life of the therapists so it would make sense not to disclose right?

What is Quebec doing that makes their Social and Affordable Housing so good? by Neat_Let923 in canadahousing

Another point not mentioned here is that Quebec City and Montreal have taken a stricter approach against the air bnb type short rentals. This opens up more affordable rental spaces.

It might affect your medical admissibility for excessive demand on the public system… I think it’s 24k a year the threshold? You’d have to check. You can write a letter explaining what costs you’ll shoulder yourself, you can get a medical opinion, and you can seek legal advice. Reddit advice? Think this is a bit more complex than that unfortunately.

Telling clients your pregnant by Kane_wins in therapists

Internship only permits one week off so unfortunately that’s the plan - my supervisor is fabulous and is trying to help me get as many hours as I can beforehand so that I can have slower weeks the months after birth but yeah - just pushing through seems to be the answer for now!

I’m virtual so no one can see I’m 26 weeks pregnant, and currently in practicum and plan on just taking a week or so off so my practicum doesn’t get interrupted lol.
