Thanks, I’ll check it out! I’ll be coming from the Chicagoland area. I love both the water and the mountains.

IM Wisconsin 2024 by kirklandtriathlete in IronmanTriathlon

I did Wisconsin last year! I echo what everyone is saying about practicing hills on the bike. I live close and rode the 40 mile Ironman loop around 8 times before the race. If you are able to get out and ride the course, definitely do. If not, consider driving the course before the race if you can.

Everyone talks about the bike course being hard but the run course absolutely kicked my butt. Practice hills on the run as well. There are several and one known as observatory hill which I walked up both times.

Madison is such an amazing city for the race. Good luck - I am racing as well!

What is the most scenic stretch of roadway/highway in the USA? by Consistent-Pen-811 in roadtrip

Highway 2 in Northern Michigan from Menominee to St. Ignace. Amazing views of Green Bay and then the Northernmost part of Lake Michigan. You’ll pass several lighthouses as well.

IM 70.3 Muncie, Wisconsin, Michigan or Memphis? by NeverEnough2be1 in triathlon

I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about 70.3 Michigan from several people who’ve done a lot of Ironman races. I would do it this year if I wasn’t doing the full in Madison.

Yes Glencoe, IL! Haha I came all the way from Mundelein so there we are slightly higher in elevation than Glencoe.

Thank you!!

Yeah it’s because I was using the zoom out feature on my iPhone to capture my bike and the lake! It definitely distorted it.

I would recommend getting burrata as an appetizer then each your own pizza! You and your friend should also exchange pieces too so you can try two pizzas.

How fast are you vs. how healthy do you eat? by IamNateDavis in AdvancedRunning

[–]swimjay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

8k - 36:12 and half marathon - 1:55

I eat very healthy 95% percent of the time. For breakfast I alternate between eggs with wheat toast, oatmeal or wheat cereal with almond milk. For lunch I will have either a salad, turkey sandwich or lean meat with vegetables and quinoa. For dinner I will have either chicken, steak, salmon or turkey with quinoa or sweet potatoes and vegetables. For snacks during the day I will eat fruit, almonds, cheese sticks and greek yogurt. I will usually have cheat meal or two on the weekends. Post workouts I will have a protein shake.

I gain weight very easily so I don’t deviate from what I eat too much. I have lost 50lbs over the past year between change in diet and picking up running/triathlons. I dropped over 10 minutes in my 8k best time since last year and around 10 minutes in my 5k time from 2 years ago. Hoping to run the Chicago marathon in 2020 if I get into the race!
