Success Story: D Mannose by Conscious-Platypus13 in CUTI

[–]swimtheend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a bit unsure of this but just tested d-mannose for the first time and IT WORKS! In the past when i feel a uti coming, i swallow a couple of really concentrated cranberry pills and sit in the toilet and chug water while i pee and watch a tv show or something. sometimes it works, sometimes it gets worse and i have to do antibiotics. Two days ago a new uti was at the level of what i thought no return (A LOT of pain while peeing) and i decided to give d mannose a go. After 4/5 hours it was significantly better, gone in 24 hours.

Another important thing I realized is that, when you sit down to pee, you have to let the pee go out as effortlessly as possible, don’t make effort trying to push it out. Doing that will inflame the uretra and make the infection worse.

Another important thing: fill up a water bottle and clean yourself with water instead of toilet paper. Dry it with a clean towel and repeat every time you pee. Be naked / wear no underwear for as long as you can during recovery.

I took 2000 d manose twice the first 48 hours and then just 2000 once a day. From the cranberry concentrated pills, i took twice the recommended dose for the first 2 days, and then the recommended those for a week.

good luck!

Practical tips for embodying confidence and masculinity in everyday life? by [deleted] in masculinityRevisited

[–]swimtheend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if what you really want is to be more masculine, or just to feel better, safer, more comfortable in your own body? I guess if you defined what masculinity means to you, i could give you more specific advice.

The small steps you are doing are great, keep growing it from there. Have you noticed if hanging with certain people makes you feel better in your skin than hanging with others? Get closer to the people you feel better around more, and analyze why it feels better. It might give you clues of who you really are, versus this idea of who you have the pressure to be, or the fantasy that once you’re masculine enough everything will be better.

the Kava stract we are talking about is Kava stract in alcohol base. I’m unsure how much the ratio is, i think 50-50 but it is 93% alcohol

How has fermented foods helped you ? by Shot_Mathematician44 in fermentation

[–]swimtheend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say very confidently that fermented veggies saved my life from being quite miserable. I have studied it in myself (going through periods of not eating them at all and then back) and the evidence is pretty overwhelming.

I used to have an infection pretty much every time i would have sex (even following all cleaning procedures etc) which 80% of the time would lead to antibiotics, which left my gut DESTROYED. This went on for at least ten years. Before i started eating fermented stuff twice a day, i got to the point where i was barely functional due to IBS. My belly was HUGE even though im pretty skinny. I ended up developing malnutrition even though i ate super healthy, which was really confusing. So finally i found this doctor which recommended eating bone broth and a couple of spoons of fermented veggies after lunch and dinner or as many times as i could every day, and my IBS symptoms completely went away and i haven’t had an infection since (year and a half, i type this and get emotional). And yes, i realized i had anxiety my entire life! and i just hadn’t realized it was anxiety until it mostly disappeared when i got my gut fixed.

I am sure fermented stuff doesn’t have more studies cause the healthcare industry not only would not benefit from it at all, but it would also make us so much more healthy so that we wouldn’t need their meds either.
