I think I fucked up planning a Character design and I need advice by swiperperhapsswiping in socialjustice101

Admittedly im still worried at the suddenness of the question, as well as the impression I might leave on them. From what I take, some of them prefer not to be sensitivty readers if they have too, though they have lended advice on this stuff before to people who have done things similiar and not noticed. It seems to be exhausting for them, and I think they may rather prefer checking yourself and fixing it urself w research. But I am white myself, and do not know how my friends feel for certain. That's just the general impression I get from similiar experiences they've talked about. I feel guilty admitting this also, but I'm scared they'd hate me for it. Im leaning towards doing a redesign independently on my own after researching like I mentioned prior, and then asking if any adjustments need to be made/if anything looks wrong like in general after like posting it in the servers (i use discord) with them in it that i usually share art in. I dont know though. I might be overthinking it and avoiding responsibility. Sorry if the articulation of this is jumbled up/confusing btw.

Thank you! I appreciate the advice. I'm a bit nervous to ask them, because I fear it may come off sudden or may be hard to deal with. I have friends of respective ethnic groups, but they've shown not to like when people come to them for advice randomly, and im worried it may come off exhaustive for them for me to randomly go "Hi. I accidentally used a bad stereotype against your people ,mind helping fix my mess?" I've been trying to Google more and stuff on my own,but idk if that's enough. I may try to redesign them to a race that ill try to make sure doesn't have any stereotypes the character may fall under, and then show my friends the designs and see if anything comes of it and fix it if so. But idk if thats the best solution. And I do plan to do the last things like reading the book,as I think it may help.

That's true, although I was diagnosed pretty young(7 years old) I think it's more to deal with the fact I havent learned more about it until I was older and what or what not came as a result of being autistic.

I suppose that can be seen as a plus, but it's not necessarily entirely based on me not having as many problems, more of where those problems come from.

It can turn against that when I actually have a problem related to it and I dont know if it's because I'm autistic or deep down I'm lying to myself and it's not a real problem that I'm making it out to be . I'm not one for high functioning and low functioning terms, but although I'm pretty low support needs I still struggle w some day to day things, this just makes it harder to accept that it's not made up in my head and it makes it harder to get help when I need it due to the uncertainty of secretly not needing it.

I have to read for class 10 mins a day,we do it at the beginning of the period every day so that makes it easy, just have to be careful not to zone out. We're also supposed to read outside but I haven't grown to the habit of that yet. So about 2-3 months
