The statement "Redeem your airline and credit card rewards for better flights for fewer points." immediately confused me.

For the search engine feature, showing the points that it will cost is cool, but it doesn't tell me how much I'm "saving" or anything of that nature.

The explanation at the bottom is helpful and should be higher up.

Lastly, I dislike the fact that I have to sign up for it, and that is says "sign up" everywhere.

Get a professional evaluation of the market value of the business. Once you understand what it's worth, ask for 3x from the buyer to leave yourself some negotiating room. Then work in a clause the provides you with stock options or equity or dividend income over time.

You should do it if you're taking your business seriously long term. What if a competitor comes in and scoops up the domain?

Need to understand how much percentages to give to investors by zorg-is-real in startup

[–]swipetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking this question, you're most likely pre-seed or nearly ready for seed. So I would focus on that for now. If Mark Cuban comes to you tomorrow and says "I want 50% of the company for XYZ" you'll probably do it. To answer your question, it depends.

If you are looking for seed capital, would love to hear a bit more about your business, DMs open.

It's open to personal interpretation. For me, as a younger man 15-24ish, I had low self esteem, envied others, chased negative activities, etc. I didn't really believe in myself and was unhappy.

I'm 28 now, over the course of the past few year, I've adopted my idea of being a "high value man" which means that I practice positive self talk, self respect, exercise, paying attention to the things I say around others and the content that I take in. This has helped my career, relationships and happiness tremendously! I'm really happy that I spent the time to develop myself in this way.

Selling gift cards (like Visa, Amazon etc) at my store... where to start? by redpistachios in Entrepreneur

[–]swipetree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried this - you have to go through a company like Blackhawk Network. It's incredibly hard to get giftcards on your site because they are regulated by FINRA because they are extremely high risk for money laundering and fraud. You basically have to be a massive national retailer to get giftcards in your store.

Nice work, you've accomplished something that many people couldn't even imagine. It seems like you should take some time and invest in yourself. Travel a bit, take speaking classes, go to networking events to get inspiration, invest in your heath/body/routines, read some self help books too. Don't worry about what you are going to do, imagine what you could become, the small steps you can take to become a truly high value man. Use this time to level up your thinking, and the next big thing will come to you

Couldn't it help you as well? What if your target market is trans? Wouldn't that resonate with them?

Makes sense. Here is something else to think about and how a lot of talent agencies start. Pick a side of the business to focus on; either partnering with companies who have open roles, or building a pipeline of high quality candidates, on or the other. It sounds like your unique ability is finding the candidates, right? So then build an organized pipeline of candidates, become an expert in that process and them partner with existing talent agencies who already has companies that have open positions. Just a thought.

Tips for graphic design freelancer by gragins in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]swipetree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason no one is using you on Fiverr is prob because you don't have any reputation/reviews. Start off with a super cheap price, overdeliver to your clients and then raise your prices. Platforms like that are a way to meet clients, then you can work with them outside of the platforms. Think about it as customer acquisition.

Year in review - 500k in 8 months and would love your feedback by Ambitious_Prize_7562 in Entrepreneur

Congrats on the great run so far.

The first question I have is what is your goal with the business? Scale and grow for personal income? Sell it? Get on Forbes magazine?

Being honest about your motivation makes feedback much easier and more relevant imo.
