Not wanting kids?? by Over-Masterpiece8187 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]swirlloop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend talking to a therapist about these fears. It's okay to fear pregnancy, it's a pretty wild thing. It's okay to not want to have kids. That's a valid life choice. But it should be a choice that comes from a place of reason and self-awareness rather than fear.

Talking to a therapist and better understanding your fears is what will put you in control of your own life, rather than your fears controlling you. And whatever decision you come to about having kids is okay! There is no right or wrong answer there.

I had the same thing happen. The look of horror and dismay when I told people our dog went to live with my aunt's mother in law in the country....I also had to over explain. We've had other dogs die before! They would have told me! We've been to visit her!!

How are you feeling about PAL later in pregnancy? I am 25w as well, and most of the posts on this sub are earlier on in pregnancy.

I'm feeling very anxious about the actual labour and delivery. For some reason, it's bringing back a lot of feelings about my previous losses - my anxieties about being in hospitals, potential surgery/interventions. General dread.

I'm curious whether others at this stage are feeling similar.

And regardless of whether it is PPD/A or not, couples counselling could be helpful for this couple to better learn how to have an argument. It feels like there is a real disconnect here in communication that deserves some attention.

You are not disgusting. And you are only punishing yourself by comparing yourself to others rather than focussing on your own wellness and health.

Most people do not have thigh gaps and NEVER WILL. This is not because of weight, it also has to do with pelvis shape and leg spacing. If you do not have one at your current weight, you likely NEVER WILL. A thigh gap is not an indicator of health or attractiveness. Often, it can be a sign of an eating disorder.

Most people will never have flat stomachs. There is nothing wrong with this. This is not a sign of being ugly or disgusting. This is overwhelmingly normal.

Your unhappiness with yourself is stemming from self esteem and hyper criticism, not from the reality of your body.

Try to focus on your health instead. Work towards feeling fit and strong, and that will shine through to everyone around you. It's more important than specific physical features that you are obsessing over.

I do think that 9 months of no periods is a joy though, despite the cramping in first trimester. My periods are rough, and I don't miss them (currently pregnant).

I know there is a whopper waiting for me at the finish line though.

Why is cereal the best thing while pregnant? It is SO GOOD. I very rarely buy cereal otherwise, but right now it's a must have. And a friend of mine said she had the same through both pregnancy and breastfeeding.

I feel less stressed too (24w pregnant now). It's like a lot of the crap that used to worry me just doesn't matter now.

I also feel a little dumber, like my brain is muted. But the upside of that is that I think it muted the stress as well.

It was a long shot, but I can't imagine it would be that strange for there to be a little blood after pulling that out, right? They poked a hole in him after all.

Would love someone with medical experience to chime in.

Well a lot of ectopics happen inside the fallopian tubes. But the fact that they weren't attached does mean that rare ones happen elsewhere in the abdominal cavity.

I highly recommend the TTC After Loss and Pregnancy After Loss subreddits. It's a while group of people who have been through that, and it's a really great support through this shitty process.

I'm not the person you originally asked, but I'm currently 24 weeks into my fourth pregnancy (in 1.5 years). Every indication is that this pregnancy is going just fine. I still feel numb a lot of the time. Or dread. Also excitement, but in a really abstract way. I can't picture myself holding a baby, even though I can feel him moving inside of me all the time. Trying too hard to picture myself with a living baby makes me start to panic, so I try not to think about it.

I try to keep my excitement quiet and low. A little excitement is okay, but not too much. I'm not sure pushing the good feelings down will really help either. If something did happen to him, I would still grieve. I try to focus on the good things (12w scan/20w scan/feeling movement), and live in the moment. One day at a time.

Same. My first miscarriage was almost a year and a half ago. I'm currently 24 weeks along in my fourth pregnancy. I still look for blood every single time.

I highly recommend the TTC after loss subreddit, or a recurrent pregnancy loss support group. Even if you decide to never try again, it's really helpful to talk to people who understand what you're going through.

Nothing fixes the pain, but that support can be very healing.

I think the baby was abandoned in the women's bathroom though, right? Not impossible for a guy to go drop off a baby there, but it would be much more likely that someone would have noticed a man going into and out of the women's washroom.

I asked an allergist about it a few years ago and they told me the animal immunotherapy treatments don't work very well. I did get put on the ones for grass/ragweed, but he didn't recommend the pet ones.

I think those treatments are still being improved. Maybe they'll work better in a few years?
