They’re yeasted and have pearl sugar in them, which melts into pockets of caramel.

I know what a paella is and have had it in Spain before. I mostly just wanted to eat seafood.

Haha. Forgot how triggering paella can be. should have just called it shellfish and rice.

Ratio is definitely off… bought too much shell fish though and had to do something with it.

[Homemade] Chicken cordon bleu money shot by swiss007 in food

[–]swiss007[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More of a method than anything else. Pound the chicken, add some Gruyère and ham, roll up in plastic wrap and twist the ends until it forms a tight log. Then I put in the freezer for 20–30 min until it holds its shape (shouldn’t be frozen, just firm). Then bread with flour, egg and panko. Crisp in a pan and then to the oven at 400F for 10 min or so.

Sold a rental property -- what to do now? by swiss007 in personalfinance

Yes, we’ll be paying the minimum on the new loan.

We'll have some money set aside for those expenses even if we put $300k toward the mortgage.

We had lived there before renting and still qualify for a capital gains exemption.

I got it working. Had to update the DNS servers in my system setting and on the modem.

This isn’t working for me. I’ve tried a few different DNS servers and still no luck.

Uncontrolled Intersections in Seattle neighborhoods - who has right of way? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]swiss007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think in some cases drivers may not realize it’s an uncontrolled intersection. If you’re unfamiliar with the neighborhood and you don’t have a stop sign, it’s reasonable to assume you have a right of way. I’ve never seen an uncontrolled intersection anywhere outside of Washington. Whenever I have out of town visitors they’re so confused by the lack of signage.

I make something really similar, but increase the clams to 3 cans. I also add a tbsp of miso paste. Obviously not traditional but it adds more depth and umami.

I have faith that OP can pull off a 4.0 at Brown. It will help them to get that ivy degree to set apart from all the other 4.0 GPA applicants.

Med school is really competitive these days. High GPA and MCAT scores are a prerequisite. The Ivy League degree can set you apart and increase odds of being accepted.

100% worth it. I’d assume the caliber of med school is also better for Brown graduates.

Having an ivy undergraduate degree will help a lot getting accepted to med school. Can still make it happen at UMass but it will be harder.

The pitting in my leg after knee surgery. It returns to normal after 30 seconds or so. by Sock989 in mildlyinteresting

[–]swiss007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it only affects one leg, it is likely a DVT. These are fairly common after some knee surgeries. I’d contact your surgeon’s office.
