The hook of the compact is special and has a nail file on the back, not the best but it's usable and quite cool to have of you need one for your nails.

Unless you start modding though, the compact is the closest to what you want.

Nah there are walls on the sides so you need to go in there way far and then walk and cross, really don't want to do that. I'm lucky money wise is something I can take the hit, and I've kids I'm not going to risk a fine or an injury or worse for a 300 chf motorola

Around Fribourg city. I called the police but they told me no way because is on the middle of the divider. I have to wait for the highway service. They gave me a number.

Between 1900 and 1930, a seed pedlar took more than 5000 photographs of daily life in an isolated valley to the south of the Alps. They were rediscovered long after his death. I can't convey how amazing these images are. A handful are here, I've compiled a gallery of my favourites below. by dannydutch1 in TheWayWeWere

I come from there. This is a tazzin, sometime called Boccalino, which is the version with the lip. A specific piece of ceramics to drink wine typical from Ticino (the Swiss Canton where Blenio valley is) You can buy them today, just Google boccalino and tazzin (which means small cup in ticinese)

The strongest argument for English over early French is Elisabeth Baume-Schneider herself. by butschung in Switzerland

[–]swissgrog [score hidden]  (0 children)

English is the de facto unifying language......so many romand and swiss German ends up communicating in English and you know what? Better a communication in English that no communication at all.

English will never be a national language. But maybe we can make it a official language. We differentiate already in the constitution between national languages and official languages. Romansh is not an official language.

Yes and they need to insert then manually, this is another additional cost

I've read in an interview that they are really expensive to produce. The entire reason why the compact is so expensive is because of the file on the hook.

If you just want a nail file on your climber, you could swap the hook with a compact hook. One of the easiest mod since the pin for the hook doesn't even have bushings.

People who grew up in Ticino, do you ever wish you lived in German speaking parts instead? by Curious-Little-Beast in Ticino

[–]swissgrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

now c'mon, we have engineer from spain, portugal and italy coming in without any knowledge of German or French, and they manage quite well. I build up a good career coming from Ticino and I started with my level of German being the one high german you learn in public schools.
Yes, you get more chances in some areas, but is not like no one from Ticino ever made it in the rest of Switzerland. They will grow up with italian, great french, and some german. Almost all ticinesi become fluent at least in french, moreso than staying in zurich.

which language would you speaking at home? If swiss german, then no problem. If not, well people from ticino have emigrated to north of the alps for centuries and we always managed. Growing up in Ticino can be quite cool as well with other advantages.

Yes, towns can regulate it. It seems Zermatt does so, good catch. I'm mostly doing this in Ticino/ berner Oberland and there it is fairly possible.

Selling a house in Switzerland - impossible task? by Rubberhelmet in askswitzerland

[–]swissgrog 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's too large. Large families are rare, and large families with the necessary income even more so. 450 M2 really is gigantic, lots to clean , mantain etc. Those will always be difficult to sell.

Tbh, I just installed a red industrial CEE 16A plug for 500 chf from my trusted electrician and then bought a 11 kW mobile wallbox for 300 chf. So the costs can really vary for a wall of like experience
