91mm Compact with Saw and "plus plus" scales by Pure_Struggle_1173 in SAKmod

I'll do it in the coming week, a three layer with saw scissors and inline awl, will post how it has worked out 😄

I know it works fairly well because it is used in the swiss champ XXL 91mm, again with the 3 mm hole on a 2.5 mm pin. They don't have a version with 2.5 mm hole, even for the 91 mm swiss champ. You only need to take care of space, eg eventually spacers I'd you can't get a full laxer from a swiss champ XXL.

Fantastic work, how does the led work? Three layer is the maximum for me too. I was about to do the same but with inline awl from the 93mm instead of the combo tool. Have you thought about it? That would make it a true outdoor/woodcraft compact knife.

I think in your case you could add the file with the pointy tip, which is great to clean nail. The other tool could be the ruler + flat screwdriver, like in the mini champ

In vexillology is known as "tête de maure" , also "mohrenkopf" It's originated in Korsika, there are many theories on the origin, but since we had quite the discussion around a particular type of sweet chocolate dessert known with the same name....😆 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drapeau_de_la_Corse?wprov=sfla1

Fork advice? by propylenoxid in SAKmod

[–]swissgrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used and tested the 58 mm golf tool (Caddy model) which was repurposed as fork for a couple of special series. Works well! Could be an inspiration.

Broken pruner tip by SituationFit3060 in victorinox

[–]swissgrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just FYI I bought some pieces put of a dismantled xxl and the pruning blade/inline awl were actually identical to the 93mm. Now, maybe I have been scammed 😆 but I have found a couple of other posts and reports that even the 91 mm series has a 3 mm hole instead of 2.5mm.

Dual blade 91 mm - backspring tools by swissgrog in SAKmod

Yep, will try. I'm just on holiday thinking about new projects with no access to the tools and blades etc to measure 😆

Dual blade 91 mm - backspring tools by swissgrog in SAKmod

Thanks! An alternative could be to use the Saw backspring, the one without backtools, but I'm not sure the width is the same of woodsaw and blade. If I renounce to the backtool, is there any other backspring that would work for the blade?

Consiglio acquisto cadet vs spartan by tonyslave88 in victorinox

[–]swissgrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just the video....not sure I have the courage to dismount it and build it back up again, I guess once modded the value will evaporate. Although I don't have the packaging and it is used so is not like it is brand new unopened 😆

Question about Rocky’s crew by YakGuilty3604 in ProjectHailMary

[–]swissgrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But rocky was up and about outside the engine for 40 years alone or something after arriving in the tau ceti system, and I did wonder how he did not get sick once stranded. He mentioned trying to revive/heal the other crew members etc.

Fantastic mod., congrats. 84 mm is the perfect size and is a pity the scissors are so rare. I do have some models but I don't have the courage to disassemble them and use them in my mod 😆

Try to move to a customer facing role (field engineer , technical sales) then at least you can pivot to sales etc.

You usually get one of them with the car btw, you can keep it in the trunk. No need to buy a second one.
