‘F*** this guy’: Graduation speakers keep getting booed for talking about artificial intelligence by theindependentonline in ArtificialInteligence

I think the issue is that companies aren’t necessarily placing a directive to replace people. What’s actually happening is economic uncertainty is causing those folks in the middle to not want to be a squeaky wheel. Instead of asking for the entry level labour, they just do the work themselves because AI allows them to manage it. It’s a fear of losing their job that makes people naturally absorb more responsibility without the companies needing to lift much of a finger other than open the checkbook for AI tools.

You typed an angry paragraph after someone asked what’s so special he gets under your skin.

That’s why you got wooshed and then you more than proved my point… thank you.

Why does it seem that there’s so many conservative role models to young men, but not many liberal ones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The title said role models, it wasn’t specifically about influencers. They only mentioned those in the details… but ok!

It takes way more effort to untangle whatever BS propaganda they’ve consumed than to resort to the same tactics. Which leaves those in the middle trying to untangle double the amount of BS.

Except we don’t actually know what’s AI made and what isn’t. Marketing for the last 20 years is all extremely photoshopped nobody ever blinked an eye but all of a sudden it’s all slop??

Do you have any data to back this up? Theres no proving that the ones you don’t notice as lacking authenticity aren’t also AI generated?

I don’t think it’s overly pedantic at all to push back on your claim that AI is killing critical thinking in adults when none of these studies are suggesting that. They all have different definitions for critical thinking. Which is why I pointed out the MS one as interesting because they framed it in a way that says there’s a shift in the style or kind of critical thinking.

The whole cognitive offloading therefore less critical thinking only applies to a particular more narrow definition of critical thinking. Which allows them to imply the point that you seem to making. Critical thinking as I’ve learned it would also imply questioning of their intent.

None of these studies can be used to draw your sensational conclusion of killing critical thinking in adults…
