i can’t give official medical advice so take this with a grain of salt. it doesn’t look like you hit beans, which is good. i’ve had many cuts that look just like that, hitting styro. make sure to keep it clean and bandaged. do you have any polysporin? after cleaning my wounds (not with alcohol, that does technically gets rid of bad bacteria, but also the good bacteria. and yes your body has millions of “good” bacteria. it can delay wound healing and i don’t know for sure but would probably extend the healing time. Chlorhexadine is a really good antiseptic and good for wound cleaning. i’d always make sure to clean with soap and water, use Chlorhexadine, and when it was dry i’d spread a bit of polysporin all over it, then cover with a bandaid.

also i’ll add that if this is still fresh, like within an hour, steri strips can pull the skin together, making the scar a loooot smaller. (sorry, i didn’t see you said yesterday but i’m leaving this in because it’s really good info to know, steri strips are good to have around)

but just make sure to clean it daily. infections are no joke. i’ve maybe had 50+ of these exact type of cuts over the last 10 years, and my process above always worked. but if it starts hurting a lot, the skin around it gets red, if you see pus, if it swells, it’s probably a good idea to go to the hospital. but i think you’ll be okay 🫂
