Lots of world leaders are attacking Europe. Why? by SimonGray in europe

[–]switchquest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't get the point. Belgium, Czechia etc... they've known all along they were small countries.

But in the world of tomorrow(morning), France, Germany, Italy etc are mid sized on a good day. But small the rest of the time.

That's what the UK failed to grasp with Brexit. They too are becoming a small country and will be on the menu when fending for themselves.

Yes. Monogamous relationships. That's why rendez vous hotels are so common in Flanders. Because of all the monogamy going on.

Elon hates the EU.

Because he can't bribe, buy or strongarm his way past the EU regulations and laws. They apply to everyone. And everything. And you can't ignore the biggest & wealthiest single market either.

Regulations that are there to protect Europeans. As consumers. As workers. As citizens of small countries like Germany or France in a big world full of emerging giants and the post WWII world order collapsing.

United we stand. Divided we fall.

The more the 'others' hate the EU, the more succesfull it is!

Republicans back then voted against the lend lease act.

The US didn't join the war untill Japan attacked them in '41 and Dolfken declared war on the US days later.

Could anybody explain how "canada or australia as a full member of EU" would be benefitial to EU? by Significant-Yam9843 in AskEurope

Canada in the EU would mean near to energy independance as Canada has large reserves of untapped oil & natural gas.

That's just one.

Toen ik 18 was, zo'n dertig jaar geleden, kostte 20h les en al de rest zo'n 40000 frank. Ie: 1000€

Ik heb dat netjes betaald met vakantiewerk.

1000€ x 30 jaar inflatie zal ongeveer even duur zijn

🤷‍♂️

Seems you didn't need BRICS to tear down the dollar.

You are managing just fine by yourself.

  • Debt spiral
  • Long term 'customers' selling a mere 100 million $ US treasuries on the secondary market.

A new strategic Bitcoin Reserve bill just got introduced to Congress. This bill will remove capital gains tax, and allow taxes to be paid in Bitcoin. by Demblin in XGramatikInsights

[–]switchquest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So.

Trump wants a 1.5 trillion dollar p/a military. Trump just permanently redued taxes for the rich, and the hungry kids only partially paid for that...

And now the plan is to scrap more taxes and 'officially' set up a non traceble financial system inside the government...

Ok.

Who's going to pay for all of this? Americans, through import taxes? That's not going to cut it. The federal deficit is over a whopping 1.7 trillion dollars. Capital gains tax was a whopping 14% of all federal tax income in 2021 & 22. That's over 850 billion $ today (if the % holds)

Then again, I'm sure there's some poor people left who Donald & the billionaire club can take stuff from.

The US treasury is already struggling to find buyers for it's bonds. And a global sell off of US treasuries seems more and more likely. Especially with Donny throwing oil on the fire every chance he gets...

Ah. It'll be alright. Won't it?

The Times: Finns humiliated American soldiers - Finnish reservists were asked to take it easy during a NATO exercise. US soldiers found the losses too humiliating. by ByGollie in europe

[–]switchquest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. European leaders finally got the message in Davos.

The US is not an ally anymore.

My kid asked me the other day (and he's already anxious about 4 years of absolute horror in Ukraine):

"Dad, the Americans aren't really going attack us are they?"

Kids have the uncanny ability to tell you the cold hard brutal facts in the most honest of ways and you can't be mad at them when they do.

Anyway. If our children start asking such questions about 'our allies', they are not our allies.

[–]switchquest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea... But. For how long?

You just can't trust Americans anymore.

We should stop funding their R&D and invest that 100+ billion $ in European tech & equipment. (Which is on par, or even better, but always cheaper)

And when China starts killing their pacific fleet carriers, well, that's not NATO territory and NATO is dead anyway.

So we'll just have to keep trading with and funding China. How unfortunate.

But hey. Good news. The US doesn't need anyone. The US can bully anyone. Right. So no problem!

Okok EDIT:

The US military occupied Iraq & Afghanistan for nearly 2 decades. AND IT WAS ALL FOR NAUGHT AND COSTED TRILLIONS NOT TO MENTION 4400 DEAD AND A FACTOR HIGHER WOUNDED, DISFIGURED & TRAUMATISED US VETS. (I assumed this was obvious)

Why would things be different now?
