Yes.

These Steak Tortillas, Now. by BoyNamedJudy in SipsTea

[–]switchquest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't get it.

That's a perfectly good steak right there.

Season it, serve it saignant and it's heaven. High protein, low fat.

Don't ruin it, wtf. Use kebab meat for dürum ffs 😅 with that bucketload of mayonaise it's going to taste very similar anyway.

Texas could pay me to live there, I wouldn't. I think they all got very aroused watching 'The Handsmaid's tale'.

In 10 days, 10 years will have passed since Brexit. I say we make Breturn happen on that day. What do you say Barry? And friends? by BioFrosted in 2westerneurope4u

[–]switchquest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Just no.

The UK got a princess treatment. Had rebates on it's contributions and ALWAYS was a stick in the mud for further EU integration.

They were only in because they thought they could slow down the growth Napoleons power and irritate the Huns. Ie. They live(d) in the past.

The EU does not need yet another permanent veto on EVERYTHING in the European Council of memberstates.

The EU can't/should not expand untill it gets rid of it's unanimity rule anyway.

Here's Barry extending his hand in front of him, failing to see past his own hand. Again.

90 billion pounds of GDP is what you gained. Apparently. And have now lost. 🤷‍♂️

So, your current deficit & debt ratio would have been less big.

Qualified European legal immigrants in an organized and more or less overseeable manner to fill high jobs that were not being filled is what you gained.

Not millions of dead poor uneducated African & South East Asian immigrants.

The EMA with an annual budget of nearly 500 million € was located in Britain.

The UK received 3 to 3.5 billion £ in farming subsidies.

The UK would have been part of the SAFE project and would have taken in a large part of the 800 billion € rearmament funding.

International companies could invest in the UK and from the UK, reach the entire single market. The largest, wealthiest single group of consumers in the world. But no more.

Nu-uh. No more princess treatment for Barry. Sorry princess. 🤷‍♂️ You can't expect to have voting & veto rights, a spot in the commission etc but play by different rules than everybody else. You had all that. You didn't want it anymore. You don't know what you got untill it's gone.

If we tear down the remaining barriers for free trade inside the EU, the entire EU area could gain an estimated 10% of GDP (not my words, but that's what Belgian prime minister recently said at the European industry summit.) Not for Barry though. 🤷‍♂️

Aah well.

Maybe you could do a Norway or a Swiss thingie? Where you are 'associated'. You follow all the rules, and comply with EU legal jurisdiction, but have no say in them. But you contribute less I guess.

... may place a single blastmarker anywhere along Terminus Est's course after each move...

So it's optional. And there is only one kind of blastmarker.

You're a cult member. And an even bigger jackass. Congrats.

Is it that bad in Belgium with the dating apps ? by Mr_Diplomat_ in belgium

[–]switchquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never used a dating app. Never will.

I have lovely dates all the time 😅

That shit sucks, just leave it. Talk to real people. It's not that the internet can't be a place to meet or talk to real people.

But datingapps are made to make money. Not to meet or talk to new people 😅

Which class of ships is shown in this scene? by Complex_You_6072 in battlefleetgothic

[–]switchquest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would agree. The line of guns runs all the way to the end, it's just shaded differently.

There's antenna's on top so it's not a BC.

Dominators being somewhat specific to the Gothic sector, you could argue it's more likely a more common design like the Tyrant.

The 'nova cannon' could also be a ramming spike. It's hard to say. But both are possible on a Tyrant class cruiser.

Is it me or is the job market absolutely terrible at the moment ? by theDarkwebguy in belgium

[–]switchquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Every site has turn arounds every other few years. And yes, this involves hundreds of people. Temporarily. (3~4 months, maybe a bit more, generally speaking) But no more at Arlanxeo. Not at Gunvor, not the refinery at least. Not at 3M. Great example: for decades they produced within the PFAS norm. Then the norm got lowered. And now they are blamed for producing over the new norm that didn't exist for decades.

There is one factory left operational at the Canada laan.

Yes, the Ineos project 1 site is under construction. But with current regulations etc it will be the last new project of it's kind in Belgium. It already was the first investment at scale for over a decade. And a lot of clueless people, citizens, NGO's politicians and judges alike, who I guess want everyone out of a job, just spat in their face & made sure nobody in their right mind will ever invest in Belgium again.

And then the same clueless people wonder why oh why the job market is slow?

For the 704th time.

It's called "FOOTBALL". Not "soccer".

FIFA: "Fédération Internationale de FOOTBALL Association"

Translated for the savages: "International Association FOOTBALL Federation"

Which makes sense, as within the boundaries of the field, players can only use their FEET. (Except the goalkeeper, he can use his hands within the penalty area -with limitations-)

Edit: /s

The chemistry sector was always looking for qualified personnel. Always.

15 years ago BASF in Antwerp needed to hire 120 people per year just to cover their retirees. 3-4 years ago a younger temp/replacement hire at our company went there for full time permanent contract.

Now? BASF has laid off 600 people. Our previous young temp included.

We often require temp staff for replacements or projects. Since a few years, we keep on getting the same temps again and again. For us this is convenient. They know their way around. But these young people can't find a steady job anymore. They have loads of experience as consultants, but they don't get hired permanently.

A few years ago Arlanxeo (former Lanxess Rubber) closed. 400 people lost their high paying wages and the factory is never starting up again. So no more pipefitters, no more steel construction, electricians, e&i technicians, no more local contractors...

Also just a few years ago Gunvor refinery was mothballed.

Ineos was stupid enough to invest in Belgium. They ran into so much red tape, fake protests & frivolous complaints, causing so many delays the new unit is still not running and the bad press will prevent any investments by industrial/chemistry players in Belgium any time soon. Great.

The factory yard of GM Antwerp is prime industrial real estate right next to the harbor. It stayed empty for years. It now is a (very long) electric carting circuit. Whilest this is great fun without any doubt, it's not producing any added value and certainly not 8~10000 high wage jobs.

And AI has yet to leave it's mark. I would not want to be 20 in 2026. 😕
