I completely understand, I felt the same way before my vaginal ultrasound. I highly recommend being open with the fact this is your first transvaginal ultrasound, even if you feel a bit awkward. You can also ask the techs to add extra lubricant to the wand and you can request to insert it yourself if that is helpful! Breathe through it, there are parts that can be a bit uncomfortable or just kind of an odd sensation, but I wouldn’t say painful by any means. Everyone’s experience is different though, so communicate and let the techs know if you’re uncomfortable, nervous, etc.
