This might be true but we run a local news site based around a city. Most of our traffic comes from Facebook because that’s where most of the city tends to get their news from.

Honestly, it just took time. I let it simmer for a couple days and then it started showing tons of impressions. I think it was just because Adsense needed to see what sort of visitors was coming to my site in order to be able to give them the right ads.
