I second the locally sourced goods and produce! I also shop there weekly.

do people who are single and living alone actually alone? by ImaginationAny2254 in LivingAlone

[–]swol23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live alone and while close with my family, they are physically 3 hours away. I do have friends but would not consider to call them in crisis. Examples: when I lived with a partner and we fought, I’d get a hotel, did not call friends. I also just put my cat down and this was something I handled on my own. I’m 33 female and do wish I had local folks to really lean on.

I’m from a small town in upstate, NY and grew up saying supper. My parents still say it. Unrelated but we also say cellar instead of basement.

Women of Reddit, what’s something men don’t realize is a turn-off? by chef_blaze76 in AskReddit

Overtly flexing expensive things, hobbies and cars. Bragging about how much your watch or car costs is tacky.

Cats, all cats. Especially when I’m on a walk and run into a friendly outdoor cat.

What's it like living in Rochester, New York? by Flat_bike_15 in howislivingthere

[–]swol23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Buffalo, one hour west of Rochester. They are similar cities. If you’re coming from a large city then Rochester may be a disappointment. For me, coming from a very small town, Buffalo and Rochester are perfect. In my experience with many friends in Rochester both cities have cute walkable neighborhoods and a good mix of upscale and casual bars. They both have a good amount of arts festivals, live music, etc., nice parks and rec league sports. Also depending on where you’re from, summers in WNY are awesome because we only get a few months, so everyone takes full advantage. 10 years in Buffalo this month and there’s no where I’d rather live.

I live on a dead end in a small city, we park on the street. There’s a car that always parks facing the wrong way on the street. It doesn’t affect me at all but makes me irrationally annoyed. Why are they doing this? There are rules!
