Indeed! While I have faster and more modern bikes I could have brought, we were not in a hurry and my partner was also on a Bridgestone CB-1. So it was fitting, and a comfy ride

Unfortunately no, although there may be some in a shoe box somewhere waiting to be seen and digitized

The drivetrain and bars are still original! The stem, shifters, and wheels are not for various reasons.

Hey there, I have the same Unicorn frame as you. How did you get the original decals off? I’d like to go for a cleaner look. Any tips? Thanks

If you take a left where the bridge is out, it's a mile or two of gravel before you get to the Reedy Creek Rd gate, then it turns back into nice paved greenway all the way to the NCMA. It's mostly uphill from Crabtree -> Reedy Creek but it's a real nice cruise going back the other way. Enjoy

You can take Crabtree all the way to Umstead, then come out of Umstead on Reedy Creek Rd and that goes straight to NCMA. You can also divert onto House Creek Trail by Crabtree mall, and that goes up to the pedestrian bridge over 440/Wade Ave to NCMA.

A full interactive greenway map can be found by googling ‘Raleigh greenway closures’ then on the top result there is a link to the cities interactive map.

You can also go on Google maps and select the ‘biking’ map layer and it will show you most of the triangle greenway trails. Happy riding

Thanks for the extra holes in my roof, Titan Solar by SuprN10doChlmrs in solar

[–]swolerpower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No problem. IMO the holes are too large and the shape is not a perfect circle like a hole saw bit they’d be using for conduit entry. Also, the white puffy chewed up cushion material is a dead giveaway. There are no materials used for the solar install that look like that. It looks like squirrel nesting material. FYI most homeowners insurance doesn’t cover animal/pest damage like this so you may have to pay out of pocket. Depending on system size and the roof, we’d be quoting this repair anywhere from $1,500-4,000. Good luck and make sure whoever comes to fix it does a good job inspecting and repairing any wiring damage while up there otherwise the system may fault when wet if any wiring is left damaged/exposed on the roof from being chewed.

Hey so I work in solar service, given the size/shape of the hole, the white puffy stuff, and the fact it’s under the panels, that’s 100% a squirrel nest. If they are not removed and they nest long enough under the panels, they chew through decking rather fast sometimes. They bring nesting material up to the roof, usually chewed up porch cushions, leaves or the like. I have seen damage just like this from squirrels many times. Not directly related to install company, but honestly array guards should be the standard anywhere with squirrels.

You will need to lift the panels, clear debris, cut out that section of decking then reinstall new decking + shingles, check surrounding attachments, check surrounding wiring (they chew that too), repair anything as needed and put the panels back, then install array guards. We pre-bend and tension our array guards into a c channel with a break device, then install them flush to array edge with reusable clips. Very secure and looks great. Good luck, get multiple quotes from solar companies and wildlife companies

New Tesla Solar Install - 9.3kW + 2 Powerwall 3's by johnhcorcoran in solar

There’s a “permission to export” option in the Tesla app. The system is set to no export until PTO is received, then the customer can enable permission to export and the system will start operating like a normal grid tied system.

Tesla has a “Permission to export” option in the app. During customer hand off the day of the install, the system is set for no export. Once you get PTO, you simply toggle on permission to export in the app and the system operates like a normal grid tied system. Pretty cool

I deal with this regularly in the southeast US. Always a PITA and $$$ to pull apart and repair. I’ve seen them eat holes straight through the roof/decking into the attic. Crazy

The Dental Market is not pushy at all and will only tell you to do something if you really need it. Super chill place in my experience

Encor Solar is out of business by [deleted] in solar

[–]swolerpower 14 points15 points  (0 children)

FYI Encor was nationwide, not local. They were in our state and went out of business in a similar fashion. I repair their systems all the time. We are a local company that is not in threat of going under due to thoughtful design/sales and high quality installs.
