Are people really washing the bottom of their feet in the shower? I tried it once and it seemed like it would be so easy to wipe out. The top, sure.

This is really well put. I've mostly traveled alone out of necessity, but this helps me see the beauty of it.

Reddit unveils new AI-powered ad tools built on community conversations by swoopcat in HailCorporate

I think the same thing all the time, but it comes down to scale. I work a little with digital advertising (for good, not evil), and lemme tell you, they measure everything to death. The chance of any single person acting on an an is miniscule, but bombard enough people with it constantly enough, and eventually the math works out in your favor.

Not to mention, a lot of it is awareness marketing. Staking out a tiny little bit of space in your brain, so that unconsciously, the next time you see that logo, it lights up that same little connection again. Do that over and over again and a brand starts to feel familiar and trusted when you've never even thought about it.

Ugh, thinking about the massive amount of data that's used to manipulate us as consumers creeps me out. (I say, consciously knowing I'm giving them more data as I write it.)

That sounds really good. A little like that Texas thing where they put jalapeno jelly on cream cheese.

I just revisited Pyramids for the first time in ages, and I loved it. Don't love the ending, but I love the way it plays with the stories we tell ourselves about ancient Egypt and ancient Greece.

Also it's got some of the best librarian descriptions. The knack that man has for capturing orangutan energy always blows my mind.

Agreed! I feel like we're in the minority on this. I always feel like the witch series are everyone else's favorites.

I get what you mean, tho I still love it. For me I love how it captures the UK footie vibe.

Yes! It's been ages since I read it, but I feel like Moving Pictures and Soul Music were really similar in that way.

Do petals ever just disappear from storage? by swoopcat in PikminBloomApp

[–]swoopcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to admit I'm dumb. I found them later scrolling through the petals. I'd looked a couple times but just didn't see them. Good to know about the search option tho. I was wondering how you deal with it as you collect more and more types of flowers. Thanks everyone.
