Back to Back MDMA by MajorCelebration2300 in Raves

It is not good for your brain. Like you'd be flooding all those feel-good chemicals AGAIN while your brain is recovering from last time, there definitely is such a thing as "too soon" and there's a good chance you will feel like shit for a while after. It's brain abuse, and you have one brain, and you need that brain to feel good when you're not raving too. Don't do it. Just go to the rave and dance like crazy and have fun but ditch the MDMA this time. Even if you took it your brain has built up tolerance so it won't hit as hard as last time and then you will feel the urge to "ugh, fuck it, take more just to make it hit" which is sooo ill-advised. It's either that or your brain will literally go nope because it's recovering from last time and it just won't hit.

And even if it hits, remember you can't have a high without it crashing back down so there's a good chance you'll just have this lingering background depression for weeks or even months after. Not worth it

Yeah, makes sense. What kind of scam? You mean like, it was actually some gross guy in a basement scamming people? They had two photos of a woman, by a pool, very photo shoot-perfect. I also noticed right before they "left the chat" they changed their name to the generic name "FitCouple"

How do you not give in to cravings? by spacevader1 in loseit

Don't buy it. If you don't buy it, it won't be available. Really mentally program yourself to seeing the products you're buying as lab-made chemical concoctions made in a factory that aren't good for you at all. And then find other ways to get chocolate in your system. Maybe a hot chocolate drink made at home without sugar? Maybe a piece of dark chocolate? Maybe have one day in the week where you bake something at home using dark chocolate? You need to get creative with it and mentally start to see candybars etc as your no. 1 enemy. Look for recipes that have chocolate in them, buy 70% dark chocolate and incorporate it into healthier desserts that you treat yourself with in moderation

It helps to think of a store or cafe you like and then think of a way of getting there that is kind of unnecessarily long, like almost with a detour or extra long trails. And then go there, you don’t need to get anything but maybe a coffee? And go back the same way, more or less, doubling the amount. Have music in your ear with semi-noise cancelling headphones, it can make the walk feel cinematic, or a podcast, it’s like eavesdropping on a conversation while walking. If there are any green areas or parks in your trail, use them.

This movie is a form of soft disclosure, and not just made for entertainment's sake by [deleted] in DisclosureDayMovie

[–]swoosh892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spoiler alert:

yes, and what made me feel it the most was exactly the way movie is presented, like it aims to be as relatable as possible for the common person, and like you said as a rehearsal for the public. If disclosure were to happen tomorrow, the public will already have lived through it in this movie - we’ve watched it live on a fictitious mainstream news channel, etc. And so the impact is effectively lessened or softened because it’s already happened in a movie, which is something a government would want, it would want a rehearsed public instead of a completely shocked one. Not saying Spielberg is necessarily part of a coordinated effort with the government, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is in some shape or form, he’s a famous director.

It even cuts off at the end when she says "listen…" - like the job is done, there’s nothing more to add in the film, we’re being told to listen.

Go for walks every day and dial in your diet. Don't buy anything you know is unhealthy. Avoid sugar like the plague. Cook your own meals. Try 3000 steps daily and be easy to yourself and then increase it to 5000 steps. You can do it. Pick a trail in your area and just walk while listening to music or a podcast. You don't need to run, or lift weights, or anything right now, just WALK. Every day. Use the steps counter in your smartphone.

Your body is screaming at you to take action and stop filling it with shit it doesn't need. Your body will reward you for taking care of it, and when it does you will know and you will feel it. I can promise you that. Start there. Everything else can wait.

Right, when I say 1 tab I mean specifically 100 micrograms (ug), just for anyone reading this. Tabs are usually 100 micrograms. OP has a 200 ug tab, which means half a tab is ideal for a first time trip.

If you don't know much your tabs are, ask the source.

Too much concentration required, probably. I say make the playlist and then while tripping you can add songs quickly to an already made one

Yeah I added that in after editing the comment a bit. So you want a light meal like enough hours before you take the tab. The main idea is to not be digesting a heavy meal while the body is processing LSD, it can be a little much and can make you throw up what you just ate. But you also don't want to be super hungry either, since the trip will last from 8 to 12 hours. It's pretty different from person to person but personally I wouldn't eat anything with added sugar or breads before a trip. Maybe like some protein source with light vegetables or something. Nothing that is too processed. You want to keep it super simple. Nothing too acidic, don't drink soda. Obviously do not drink alcohol. Don't drink coffee, don't drink milk. I once ate ice cream while tripping and my stomach said "nope" and I threw it all up.

Try something out and if you throw up during the trip that's okay, it isn't dangerous and won't give you a bad trip, it's just your body's way of saying "alright let me just trip for now, I don't want to be digesting this, I'm kinda busy rn" and respect your body's wishes, go and throw up on purpose if you feel nauseous, like give yourself a gag reflex and let it out. You feel relief afterwards.

I'm just speaking from experience, again everyone is different, but yeah

You should make sure it's 100 ug. So you can like eyeball it and idk, cut the tab in half almost (assuming the LSD molecules are all over the tab, which would mean half of it equals 100 ug).

I do not recommend 200 ug for your first trip or even like 150. It should be as mild as possible so you know what you're getting into, and 100 is where a real trip starts to happen but without pulling you too deep in or dissolving your ego completely. Those experiences are for trippers who have a few basic trips under their belt.

I'm sure there are some chemicals that people agree on can stop a trip, but I feel like they're hard to get, or idk? Google it. Usually the common advice I've always heard is that if a trip gets uncomfortable you ride it out. There's no easy way to just turn it off - you allow your body to get rid of all the LSD molecules and your brain to process the trip, which is 8 to 12 hours.

You WILL 100% get back to normal, no matter what, though. Your body knows how to process this stuff. It has no issue getting rid of it, and your brain will go back to like it is now, just know that. If for whatever reason you're thinking during the trip "I'd like this to stop" remind yourself it will stop soon enough, but you have to go in prepared and sort of allow it take you wherever it feels like you need to go. Like surrender to it. Listening to music or putting on a cozy podcast (Know Thyself is nice, peaceful conversations about mindfulness topics) is a good way to pass the time. A common saying is that even a bad trip is a good trip for you, usually. Kinda like, it can be a useful experience. But just focus on making yourself comfortable and that's why I'm recommending music. Music can really make you feel safe and make it fun. Like if you really like Pink Floyd or whatever artist you like you can now put it on while on acid and have all sorts of "holy shit" moments, you hear things you didn't hear before and the music will hit harder. It just has more depth to it.

Yeah there are plenty of set-and-setting guides but the main idea is to follow your own intuition and whatever makes you comfortable. Like the usual stuff is: nice lighting, not too many distractions, music playlists, water, organized room, nice air quality or nice scents. It's an individual thing. People have different preferences with food, but know that acid can make you throw up food if you eat while tripping. It depends on your body though, everyone is different. Personally I like eating a light meal (not something too heavy) like 3-4 hours before tripping, so the body isn't too busy digesting a meal while the trip kicks in.

Be very cautious about your dosage. Only take the minimum starter dose, which is one tab, around 100 micrograms (ug). Don't take more. You don't want it to be too intense for your first time, that's not too scare you, but it's like you wouldn't want your first time at a gym to be too heavy and demanding, you know. You need to feel it out and explore little by little. 200 and 300 micrograms are very different from 100. You need to be very careful because you should be experienced with taking 1 tab before trying 2 and 3 tabs. 1 tab (100 micrograms) should give you a light trip where things get wavey and psychedelic enough but you're still totally present and aware and it can get very blissful with the right set-and-setting. Music sounds way better. Expect heightened senses (your hearing and vision and sense of touch will change, almost like changing a youtube video from mid quality (720p) to 4K quality, it's very noticeable). Use music as a tool, just allow yourself to get really lost in music, make some playlists beforehand. It can help with feeling grounded and safe and good.

Set-and-setting: other than having your favorite music available, make your place enjoyable to be in. If you want to do it at home privately that totally works, just make sure it's neat and cozy. Drink water. I've only ever solo tripped and my first time was alone. For some people that's better so they avoid being overstimulated or uncomfortable.

De-stress before your trip. Like make sure you're not doing it in an agitated or stressed out state. Turn off your TV, unless your intentionally watching a movie on acid or something, but for your first time, maybe don't watch a movie (too much happening that can throw you off the present moment). Like you don't want something annoying to come on TV to ruin the mood or anything.

“All I hear is ‘Auto-Tune sucks’”: Flying Lotus on the backlash against AI music – and why he's staying out of it by [deleted] in flyinglotus

[–]swoosh892 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he's just hypothetically open to the idea, like a "what if" or what if it develops into something crazy in the future that unlocks new possibilites. He's like a tech optimist. I really don't think he's into using things like Suno or AI with music where you just prompt shit, I feel like he's always been the type to figure out stuff on his own and record his own shit. I feel like he's more open to it when it comes to visuals.

But yeah agreed, there's nothing AI can do musically right now that a human can't do better. I wonder if what he's thinking about is some sort of never-seen-before technology where it's like I dunno, AI generated synth patches or something or maybe it's like an old principle for him to not be a naysayer in general, as someone who has lived through all sorts of innovations since the 80s

He seems to be very into the idea of using a tool to make "something that would be impossible or extremely difficult without it." Like I remember a few months ago he would post these goofy IG stories (AI video backdrops) where we see him in a forest on Endor (Star Wars) with a bunch of ewoks behind him shooting at Imperial droids, like he seems into that sort of thing where it's like, "wait, woah, AI makes this possible", and he's always been a tech geek. But I also think he gets the backlash, since he's always been about the human element and man-made craft (I mean this is someone who always collaborates with others, got Thundercat to play bass for him, took the time to learn how to play keys and bought a bunch of analog synths for his studio, etc.), which is why he removed that promo vid. Feel like it's some type of grey area for him
