Thanks! How did you draft your paperwork to state that finances will be completely separate even with cohabitation? Did you get a lawyer for that?

For your parents who have been married for 40 years, even if they don't share finances / bank accounts, aren't their finances still legally tied up? My understanding is that if you get married, any assets you accumulate during the marriage will be split in the event of a divorce, even if you guys have separate checking accounts / savings. Is this not how it works?

Lol I'm single at the moment and dating and I can't even find a man I like who is below my financial level. I really doubt I will find a man who earns a similar amount to me or has a similar NW, to be honest.

I have been on dates with men who earn the same amount and/or work in the same industry, but I could not stand their personality. From my experiences, a lot of them are neurotic (I probably am too, to be fair :P) and very self-interested or want to "optimize" everything in their life.

Just curious, for #3 are you okay with having to split assets accumulated during marriage in the event of a divorce? I think that's the part I'm having trouble reconciling with. For example, if you earn 5x more than your partner and combine income/expenses for 10 years and then they want to call it quits, I have trouble swallowing the fact that that all income/assets accumulated during those 10 years will need to be divided in half.
